I celebrated my 65th birthday by taking B/W portraits of my dear friends who gathered to wish me well.

 

Key light was ProFoto Compact 600 shot into a SoftLighter II umbrella with diffusion screen attached. Fill light was from single sheet of foamcore. Hair light, when used, was a Nikon SB-80DX. Camera was Nikon D300 at ISO 200. Lens was a Nikon f/1.8 50mm.
