eBook printed combining tracing and blue paper
All papers have been previously printed with a big image on one side and the usual printing process on the other side;
this gives the effect of illustration in a full text eBook.

Get Pushed Round 22. I had the good fortune to be paired with Chris Hancock www.flickr.com/photos/47474057@N04/ What a challenge he issued! I was on vacation in Vancouver and quite eager to give it a try!
"Background: I've been trolling Netflix and watching videos from the Art 21 series. On that I just viewed was of Sally Mann who works with some basic equipment that is often not the highest of quality. I want you to do the same.
Do you have access to film? I'd like you to shoot a roll and give what you get without any computer assisted editing. But one more catch. Can you get a lens or filter that is "broken" in some way. I'm hoping you will capture a subject in a beautiful way with less than perfect equipment. You pick the subject, camera (box, Holga, whatever), and film...just no digital processing other than however you get it to Flickr."
I had not seen any of Sally Mann's work before. Some pretty incredible stuff....intense and driven! I felt for her children, who were very often her subjects. One of the children (now grown) commented that they didn't have a Mother, they had an artistic collaborator. She is truly an eccentric - and an inspired artist. I have not done much work with film since going digital and I did not have my 35mm Pentax with me, but I did happen to have my old diffusion filter.
In these I cheated....got tired of fighting with the Kodak funsaver. I used digital, but shot them in monochrome, used the diffusion filter hand held over the lens and didn't use a tripod. All are SOOC.

CFG usually either 7, or 14
Image was upscaled with Topaz Gigapixel
Gigapixel config:
- Upscale: 2x
- Mode: standard
- De-noising: 0
- Blur Reduction: 20
- Face recovery: 15
Workflow:
- Generate a ton of 10-20 step "rough drafts" in Google Colab
- Grab the seeds of the good-ish ones
- Rerun in Google Colab with 60-100 steps with the seeds
- Send the good images to Google Drive
- Pull those images into Gigapixel AI and export with standard settings
- Finally, also send them through Sharpen AI, often with "Too soft - Normal" and 30-70 added grain. This step isn't that crucial, but it does help a tiny bit.
- Post to flikr with JS scripts to automate this description :)
