This photo is of a prototype air-cooled condenser now undergoing tests at the Portsmouth (Ohio) Gaseous Diffusion Plant. A potential cost-saver in pollution control, the air-cooled condenser, being developed by Goodyear Atomic Corporation, has an operating cost which is one-tenth of that for existing water-cooled condensers. Circa 1972
