Josh B (son of my diving buddy) took up this local challenge with a leaping front spin to increase the degree of difficulty. He nailed the landing feet first. Go Josh!!
The photo treatment was inspired by 70's Polaroids when I did this kind of thing myself at the Canberra Olympic Pool to try and impress the girls (just not as well as Josh).

बैशाख १२, काठमाण्डौं जननिर्वाचित सरकार गठन भएको ३ महिना वितिसक्दापनि महिलाको मुद्दामा सरकार मौन रहँदा स्थानिय महिलाहरु आक्रोशित हुदै दबाब दिनका लागि राजधानी आएका छन् । स्वतस्फुर्त ७५ जिल्लाबाट राजधानी आएका यी महिलाहरुको आक्रोश रोकिने अवस्थामा छैन । न्याय नपाएसम्म जिल्ला नफर्कने अडान उनीहरुको छ । यसै बीच यीनै स्थानिय मानवअधिकार रक्षक महिलाहरुको उत्साहको निष्कर्ष स्वरुप शुक्रबार राजधानीमा महिलामाथि बढ्दो हिंसा ÷यौन हिंसा र न्यायको पहुचमा रहेको असहजता विषयक राष्ट्रिय बहस शुरु भएको छ ।
राष्ट्रिय महिला आयोग, महिला मानवअधिकार रक्षकहरुको राष्ट्रिय सञ्जाल, ओरेक नेपाल र बलात्कार विरुद्ध राष्ट्रिय अभियानद्वारा संयुक्त रुपमा आयोजित राष्ट्रि««य बहस कार्यक्रममा बजाङ जिल्लाको जयन्ती जोशी भन्नुहुन्छ.,“ यौन हिंसाको विषयमा न्यायका लागि स्थानिय निकायको सहयोग छैन । थप त्यस्ता निकायले पिडकलाई मुक्त गर्न पैसा लिएको अवस्था छ । त्यसैले स्थानिय निकायको मानसिकतामा परिवर्तन गर्न आवश्यक छ ।” उहाँ थप्नुहुन्छ., “स्थानिय स्तरमा महिला मुद्दाका विषयमा सहयोगको अवस्था देखिदैन र अर्कोतर्फ राज्य मौन रहदा हामीलाई न्यायका लागि दबाब दिन केन्द्रसम्म आउन बाध्य हुनुपरेको हो ।”
कार्यक्रममा महिला मानव अधिकार रक्षकहरुको राष्ट्रिय सञ्जालका अध्यक्ष डा रेणु राजभण्डारीले सामाजिक न्यायको लागि लेखाई, सोचाई र सम्पुर्ण संरचनागत परिवर्तनको खाँचो रहेको बताउनु भयो । राजभण्डारी भन्नुहुन्छ ,“अब आश्वासन होइन सम्बन्धित निकायले कार्यान्वयन स्तरमा काम गर्नु जरुरी छ । उहाँले संक्रमणकालिन न्याय प्रणालीलाई सत्यनिरुपण तथा बेपत्ता आयोगसँग मात्र जोडेर हेर्न नहुने बताउनुभयो । संक्रमणकालिन न्यायमा महिला हिंसाका विषयलाई पनि सम्बोधन गर्दै पीडितलाई मात्र नभई पीडितबाट प्रभावित हुने अन्य सदस्यका विषयमा पनि सम्बोधन हुन आवश्यक रहेको उहाँको भनाई छ । उहाँले पछिल्लो समयमा साना साना बालबालिका बलात्कारको चपेटामा परेको बताउँदै अदालतबाट बलात्कार पीडितले न्याय पाउँन कम्तीन वर्षसम्म कुर्नुपर्ने अवस्था रहेको जोड दिनुभयो ।
कार्यक्रममा राष्ट्रिय महिला आयोगका अध्यक्ष शेषचाँद तारा भन्नुहुन्छ, “बलात्कारको घटना वृद्धि हुनुमा महिलासम्बन्धि अपूर्ण कानुन र राजनितिक दलको अहसहयोग मुख्य रहेको देखिन्छ ।” उहाँले घरेलुहिंसाका लागि बनेको ऐन परिमार्जित भइरहेको अवस्थामा रहेको बताउँभयो । साथै विभेदकारी बलात्कार सम्बन्धि कानुनको पनि संशोधन गर्न आवश्यक रहेको बताउँनुभयो ।
त्यस्तै सभासद सारधा पौडेल भन्नुहुन्छ, “ नेपालमा अधिकाशं कानुनमा “वा तर” जस्ता शब्दको प्रयोग गरिएकोेले कानुन प्रभावकारी बनाउन सकिएको छैन । चलखेल गर्ने प्रशस्त ठाउँ रहेकोले पनि अपराधी सजायबाट उम्किरहेको अवस्था छ ।”
कार्यक्रममा युनाइटेड नेशन रेजिडेन्ट कोडिनेटर रन्जना थापाले संक्रमणकालिन न्याय भन्नाले द्वन्द्वकालिन समयमा भएको ज्यादतीको सत्य खोज्नुपर्ने बताउँनुभयो । द्वन्द्वपिडित महिलाको यकिन आकडा नहुँदा महिलाहरुले आन्तरिक राहतबाट लाभ लिन नसकेको अवस्था रहेको भनाई छ । महिलाको दृष्टिकोणबाट संक्रमणकालिन न्यायलाई द्वन्द्व पिडित र द्वन्द्व प्रभावित दुवै पक्षबाट हेर्न आवश्यक रहेको पनि कोडिनेटर थापाको धारणा छ ।
साथै राष्टिय बहसमा यौनिक हिंसा तथा बलात्कार विरुद्धको अभियानको मागहरु सम्बोधन हुनुपर्नेमा जोड दिइएको छ । अभियानका मागमा हालको विभेदपुर्ण कानुनमा संशोधन गर्नुपर्ने ,द«तन्याय प्रणालीको गठन बाट प्रभावितसँग सम्बन्धित सबै घटनाहरुको अविलम्ब फैसला गरिनुपर्ने ,बलात्कारसम्बन्धि अनुसन्धान प्रक्रियालाई प्रभावकारी बनाउन निर्देशिका निर्माण र कार्यन्वयन गर्नुपर्ने ,बलात्कार पिडित÷प्रभावितमाथि विभेद गर्नेलाई सामाजिक अपराधी ब्याख्या गर्दै कानुनको निमार्ण गर्नुपर्ने लगायतका छन्. । साथै संयुक्त राष्ट्रिय संघीय प्रस्ताव नं १३२५ र १८२० का प्रावधानहरुलाई कार्यन्वयन गर्दै द्वन्द्वकालिन यौन हिंसा पिडितहरुको मानवअधिकारको सुनिश्चितताको आधार निर्माण गर्नुपर्ने पनि रहेको छ ।

O’Brien is an odd spelling of a common hibernian nomen, and indicates a certain direction to look toward. Still, finding an Irishman who died in 1846 New York wouldn’t be easy. I kept looking, slavishly.

The difficulty in Palawan is not finding Nemo but rather deciding what colour combinations are the most brilliant. The bright orange little clown fish here have a variety of anemone colours as their backdrop.
The difficulty in this shot was getting more detail on the building without washing out the moon in the sky. When I lightened the blacks and the shadows, the grain in the image became very pronounced so I also used the noise reduction and a bit of smoothing to enhance the image. Additionally, I used the distortion tool to 'level' out the perception of the image.
