What a mess Flickr was the night before last! I had difficulty adding titles to my uploaded images, comments didn't save and, after I had added a description to each of the 20 photos, the descriptions all disappeared. When I opened Flickr next morning, there was still no sign of them. Then, suddenly, they re-appeared. I also discovered that all the hundreds of photos from this trip that I added to the map are no longer on the map!!! Someone on the Help Forum told someone else to refresh a page and the map will appear again - and it works. Now, I can't add photos to albums - it looks like they are added, but when I check the album, some of yesterda's photos had not appeared. Suddenly, now appeared. Also, my descriptions appeared in duplicate! Today, 13 May 2019, everything I try to do on Flickr takes a long time to do.
My photos taken at the National Butterfly Centre, Mission, South Texas, have now come to an end, so you can sigh a huge sigh of relief : ) Today I added 22 photos taken at another place that we called in at later in the afternoon, the Valley Nature Centre. Unfortunately, we only had an hour there before closing time, but how glad we were that we found this place. The highlight there was watching 25 Yellow-crowned Night-Herons coming in to roost for the night in the trees, right where we were standing! What a great sight this was, and we were lucky enough to have a good, close view of these gorgeous birds, though in very poor light. We also saw some Purple Martins and their circular, hanging nesting "gourds".
On Day 6 of our birding holiday in South Texas, 24 March 2019, we left our hotel in Kingsville, South Texas, and started our drive to Mission, where we would be staying at La Quinta Inn & Suites for three nights. On the first stretch of our drive, we were lucky enough to see several bird species, including a Golden-fronted Woodpecker, Hooded Oriole, Red-tailed Hawk, Crested Caracara, Harris's Hawk, Pyrrhuloxia male (looks similar to a Cardinal) and a spectacular Scissor-tailed Flycatcher. This stretch is called Hawk Alley.
We had a long drive further south towards Mission, with only a couple of drive-by photos taken en route (of a strangely shaped building that turned out to be a huge, deserted seed storage building). Eventually, we reached our next planned stop, the National Butterfly Centre. This was a great place, my favourite part of it being the bird feeding station, where we saw all sorts of species and reasonably close. Despite the name of the place, we only saw a few butterflies while we were there. May have been the weather or, more likely, the fact that I was having so much fun at the bird feeding station. We also got to see Spike, a giant African Spurred Tortoise. All the nature/wildlife parks that we visited in South Texas had beautiful visitor centres and usually bird feeding stations. And there are so many of these parks - so impressive!
Tomorrow, I will be able to start sorting and editing images taken on Day 7 of our 13-day trip!

For those having difficulty getting pileated woodpeckers to come to their feeders I can only share my particular experience. The feeders shown here are about 30 feet off the ground. (The mesh bag is filled with thistle, which attracts mainly goldfinches) The two suet feeders attract a variety of woodpeckers, a yellow bellied sapsucker, Carolina Wrens, titmice, nuthatches, bluebirds, and occasionally, a goldfinch. The pileated is about 14 feet from the window through which I was shooting. Any slight movement on my part and he or she takes off. Oh yes...the homemade suet mix on the table attracts both birds and squirrels. I've only seen a squirrel eat the cat food pellets I put out there (the cat didn't like that type) once. Haven't seen a bird touch it. The red plastic flowerpot sauce is kept filled with water and has a heater in it. This morning there was a mourning dove sitting on its rim, I think enjoying the warmth of the water (not very, but warmer than the air.) I have also seen squirrels sitting with their tails in the water. Very amusing.

Saw quite a few White-fronted Chats foraging around in the mud around the edges of the ponds. Beautiful little birds to my eye, but for some reason I have difficulty getting really good shots of them. The high contrast on the males plumage is quite challenging.

The difficulty in the task of preventing mass publics from annihilating themselves in global conflict is in overcoming what Gustav Le Bon in 1896 called “the extreme mental inferiority of crowds.” His book _The Crowd_ describes how the public is “always unconscious” of its total effect, which makes it vulnerable to manipulation; “the most contradictory ideas may be seen to be simultaneously current in crowds,” he says, and “their complete lack of the critical spirit does not allow of [their] perceiving these contradictions.”

Distance: 10 kms / 6 miles
A challenging day hike for those who want a good workout with superb views of Lake Superior. If you are short on time - you do not have to hike the trail in its entirety to observe a great view!
It takes approximately 15-20 minutes to get from the trailhead to the first lookout. Beginning at the parking lot, follow a short flat section until you reach a Y in the trail. Turn LEFT. If you only have time for a short hike, and don't feel like tramping for over 4 hours, the first lookout is just ahead and a great payoff for short amount of time that it takes to get there, but it is a steep uphill climb. The view is towards the southeast and you can see Agawa Bay, the mouth of the Agawa River, Highway 17 and Montreal River Harbour off in the distance. If you are returning to the trailhead, retrace your steps back to the start.
To continue, get back on the trail and resume your uphill journey. The trail rambles uphill with few flat sections and a couple of creek crossings. From the 1st lookout it takes about an additional hour and ½ to reach the second lookout.
At the second lookout there is another panoramic viewpoint of rolling hills and Agawa Bay. A great place to take some photos or stop for lunch.
There are two more lookouts a short distance past here, but have become obstructed by tree growth, and unfortunately you can't see much.
The remainder of the hike is undulating, up and down, until you have descended to reach an old logging road. From here it is flat to slightly downhill with tree canopy veiling overhead.
Technical difficulties. Ashin Kawwida said something like, "I set you free like the people of Burma will be free" and the dove refused to move. He shook his hands more aggressively and the dove just cheerfully bobbed along. Eventually it fluttered nonchalantly off, only to return and calmly stroll around on the lawn behind the row of monks.

"Moderate" excavation difficulty by tile spade requires impact energy or foot pressure; arm pressure is insufficient.
"High" excavation difficulty by tile spade is difficult but easily done by pick using over-the-head swing.
The layer being examined required overhead impact energy--both foot pressure or arm pressure was insufficient and an over head swing with a tile spade was difficult--indicating a "high" excavation difficulty. This degree of difficulty is common for root limiting layers such as soils high in plinthite, fragipans, densic materials, or paralithic materials.
The massive root limiting layer being tested was not cemented.

His talk is a continuation of “Difficulties in Homoeopathic practice-Questions and Answers with Dr. Rajan Sankaran- Part-1” where Dr. Rajan Sankaran shares his vast experience and deals with many more questions that homoeopathic practitioners commonly face during practice. The questions are mentioned below.
Many of the remedies arrived by Sensation method are recent proving's which are not a part of Kent’s Repertory or Complete Repertory. How can we use the method when not having Mac or Vital Quest?
Dr. Rajan Sankaran enumerates various books that provide information regarding these rare remedies and says that we must read these books thoroughly to have an understanding about such remedies.
How can we be sure that we have explored the case in detail and in depth?
He shares many case examples to explain the sensation level. He explains that we know we are at the sensation level when different unconnected aspects of a case come together to the same point.
How to approach one sided diseases or local diseases like vitiligo or alopecia?
Dr. Sankaran explains that both of these diseases are auto immune disorders. He explains that in such cases we are not treating the vitiligo or alopecia, we are treating the auto immune disorder.
There was a case of Tineacorporis and based on repertorization, China was coming up as the indicated remedy. Can China, belonging to the malarial miasm, be given in a ringworm miasm case or do we need to choose a remedy belonging to the ringworm miasm from the same plant family, which may or may not cover the patient totality?
Dr. Sankaran explains that if a patient is suffering from Tinea corporis does not necessarily mean that he belongs to the ringworm miasm.
During day to day practice we find many patients who don’t give good history or we are not able to derive a good history. How to prescribe when there are almost no individualizing symptoms in a case?
Dr. Sankaran explains how every person has individualizing symptoms and we must just learn to elicit the individualizing symptoms.
In cases of autism where the patient (minor) cannot give the exact sensation or experience, the history is given by the parents who many times cannot describe the sensation or experience accurately. In such cases how to go ahead with the case and give the exact similimum?
Dr. Sankaran says that in such cases the observation of the attendants should be taken into account and not their interpretation or their theory.
Some people, whose educational status is poor, are not able to describe the exact words of their sensation or experience. How to get the exact similimum in such cases?
Dr. Sankaran says that educational status is irrelevant to a person describing his experience, symptoms or sensation.
