One of the things I find most annoying about depression is that the difference between a good day and a bad day ... is nothing.
By that I mean that sometimes, there's no trigger, no event, nothing that would, could or should make you feel bad, yet you do.
This evening was one of those nights. The exact feeling for this particular depression was written years ago by Douglas Adams in Life, The Universe and Everything:
...that terrible listlessness which starts to set in at about 2.55, when you know that you've had all the baths you can usefully have that day, that however hard you stare at any given paragraph in the papers you will never actually read it, or use the revolutionary new pruning technique it describes, and that as you stare at the clock, the hands will move relentlessly on to four o'clock, and you will enter the long dark teatime of the soul.
It's not a "I want to die" depression or anything like that. It's just a sensation of being frozen in place, unable to move, decide or impact anything at all beyond the chair you're sitting in.
It'll be gone by morning. It's probably a sign I should go to bed, but it feels too early for that. So I'll likely sit here another hour until my body decides it's had enough.
In the “Make a Difference” workshop, youth helped with several local community service projects. They made 27 gift bags for the Fresh Start Home, 113 mini first aid kits for the Peoples City Mission, and 84 reusable meal tray covers and 20 centerpieces for Holmes Lake Manor. 今日12日(日)の関東は昨日よりも雲が多く、気温の上がり方が鈍くなっています。
