There are a lot of differences of opnion regarrding the use of face masks and Covid-19.
Whilst all frontline workers have high grade masks as part of their protective clothing, experts in the UK say that normal masks are of little use to the general public.
A group of ladies here sewed masks for the total adult population of the town and officials delivered them to our houses.
My undertanding is that this type of mask may not protect you from the virus but should pervent you from spreading the infection to others.
Nobody seems to have an idea how many people there are infected but experts calculate that it could be millions. Many of those supposedly show no symptons but are still infectious.
It therefore makes sense to me to wear a mask especially one that you have been given.

African Hoopoe
The African hoopoe (Upupa africana) is a species of hoopoe in the family Upupidae. Previously considered as a subspecies (Upupa epops africana) of the hoopoe, due to its vocalisations and small differences in plumage, it is otherwise similar to that species.
The species was described by the German naturalist Johann Matthäus Bechstein under the current binomial name Upupa africana
The African hoopoe is 25-28 centimeters (10-11 inches) in length and weighs 40-60 grams (1.4-2.1 ounces). It has a long, decurved bill, with cinnamon, black and white plumage and a long crest that raises when the bird is alarmed. Its wings are broad and rounded. The female is slightly duller than the male with less white in the secondary feathers. The juvenile has dull buff underparts with a shorter bill and buff tinge to the white wing bars.

Madikwe Game Reserve
The Madikwe Game Reserve is a protected area in South Africa, part of the latest park developments in the country. Named after the Madikwe or Marico River, on whose basin it is located, it was opened in 1991 and comprises 750 km2 of bushland north of the small town Groot-Marico up to the Botswana border.
Madikwe Game Reserve lies 90 km north of Zeerust on what used to be farm land, but owing to the poor soil type, farming was not that successful. After extensive research, the South African Government found that this land would best be utilised as a provincial park, to economically uplift this otherwise rather poor area.
The process reintroducing wildlife to the area began in 1992 under the codename Operation Phoenix which relocated entire breeding herds of elephants, Cape buffaloes, south-central black rhinos and southern white rhinos along with various species of antelopes. Following Operation Phoenix, Madikwe has also successfully reintroduce rarer predatory species such as lions, cheetahs, spotted hyenas and Cape wild dogs bringing the total large mammal population of the reserve to over 10 000. There are currently more than 60 species of mammal in the park.

Reserva do Madikwe

The photographs of Samir Delic look at different women’s characters, placing them one towards the other as contradictions, re-examining differences of their nature. The photographs re-examine a symbolic border between movement and illusory passivity, between the strength of a personality and shadow, or its reflection.
The woman in Delic’s photographs is also a strong individual, who separates herself from numerous unclear shadows, and also a woman’s shadow in hot asphalt or a shadow giving her hands towards a man’s silhouette, larger and stronger; and an uninterested passer-by for political happenings and everyday, and also the one who participates in peace protests or devotes herself for labour rights.
Sometimes, it is just a traditional veil with no face, sometimes a young face framed by the veil. In these photographs, there is also a Sanjak woman who speaks even when she is just the shadow or the reflection, who speaks with her traditional clothing and her permanent movement, and with her youth and when her face symbolically alludes to mother Earth, with her face burst by a drought.

"To a leprariophobe (your typical lichenologist), morphological difference among most of the species of this genus are so subtle that TLC is essential for confident identification.
