Part of my final project for a fantasy literature class. One option for the assignment was to do an art project based on a book covered in class or a story of your own.
This series consists of character portraits based on a story I'm developing. The story is inspired by/loosely based on the song "Hand of Sorrow" by Within Temptation.

Published in MDCCCV. It was in somewhat bad condition (moldy), but would still be cool to own something like that.

Creativity is starting to run dry. I let some light through the horizontal blinds to light up "celebrate" in the dictionary. Do you think this would look better in B&W? LQTM...
Relected sunlight through window. And then image combined with another in photoshop to give a 'hint of Dr Calgari' - can only see that at large size though.
I was in the middle of an altered dictionary round robin when my dad died a few years ago. This was the first spread I was able to make. I was influenced by Karen Michelle's birds.
Thought it was time to tackle this letter of the alphabet!
The painting depicts the capture of the Spanish xebec frigate El Gamo in 1801 off the coast of Barcelona by the Royal Navy brig HMS Speedy commanded by Thomas Cochrane, 10th Earl of Dundonald
Painted for Commander Ricketts RN who served as midshipman in the action; by descent to his daughter Mrs Julia Anne Bonnor, who bequeathed it to the museum Victoria and Albert Museum in 1901.

I know it has been a long time since I updated my P365, but rest assured, just like daily vitamins, I'm still getting my helping of daily photos.
Let me borrow some words from the great Bill: "First, apologies for the lack of updates. Motivation went downhill." … Although I've been swamped with work, I admit that I've lost my motivation.
Inspiration needed …
I hate to see the big red Oxford dictionary on my desk at home (or more politically correct "our desk"), so I kept filing it away to a shelf outside and hide it from sight. The problem was, it kept coming back to haunt me, because my wife needed to use it. So tonight I took out a piece of wrapping paper I'd meant to collect but not being used, to wrap the bloody dictionary into a pleasing object I will have no excuse to file away.
To help my wife to get a sense of top and bottom, I also stamped the word on the cover. Tomorrow, if she doesn't feel like me too controlling, I will paint the pages' edge in brown to finish my adoption.

خبر انسداد سایت لغتنامه دهخدا در ایران فرصتی است تا بار دیگر مروری به دلایل احتمالی نمايیم. بیش از هر علتی ،نیاز شدید عاملان چنین کارهایی به جلب توجه از روش و انتخاب زمانی و موضوعی اعمالشان به شدت آشکار بوده است. تا حدی که به روشنی نوعی از عدم تعادل و عدم اعتماد به نفس عمیقی از بررسی رفتار ایشان بدست میآید.که این خود باز اشاره
دیگریست به درستی تحلیل برخی از دیپلماتهای اروپایی که پس از کشتار ایرانیان در وقایع سال گذشته در برخی جلسات عنوان نموده بودند. یکی از محورهای تحلیل یاد شده این بود

ایرانی بوده باشند. (در زمان مناسبتر به جزییات مبنای منطقی این تحلیل اشاره خواهم نمود)
یادآوری این نکته نیز بی نتیجه نخواهد بود که پس از کشتار دانشجویان در کوی دانشگاه ،آقای صانعی نیز چنین مطلبی را بیان نموده بودند. اگر چه برخی مخالف نمایان تلاش نموده اند
جهت این موضوع را تبدیل به نوعی کنایه نموده و مانند همیشه به وظیفه خویش در پوشاندن
حقایق ادامه دهند،اما موضوع روشنتر از آنست که بتوان بیش ازین استتارش نمود.
اگر چه ظاهرا بانیان کشتار روزمره ایرانیان و باقی رفتارهایی که در ملایمترین شکلش حداقل
در پی تحقیر ایران و ایرانی بوده است،همه نام و شناسنامه ایرانی دارند ،اما با رفتار خویش
(هر قدر هم که به زبان چیز دیگر گویند) ثابت نموده اند که در پی نابودی فرهنگ و تاریخ ایران
بوده اند.چه زمانی که با بولدوزر بمنظور ویران کردن تخت جمشید براه افتادند، چه زمانی که
مستقیما گفتند ایرانیان قبل از اسلام ملتی وحشی بوده اند ،چه زمانی که قصد از میان برداشتن نوروز نمودند،و چه اینک که در حال آماده سازی برای تغییر دستخط فارسی به (ظاهر لاتین ولی در واقع ترکی هستند) ولی به زبان میگویند که بدنبال تبلیغ فرهنگ ایران هستند.
اینک نیز خبر انسداد سایت فرهنگ واژگان دهخدا پرده جدیدی به این نمایش تکراری افزوده است.بنظر میرسد باز هم قصد اصلی رساندن پیامی باشد به دلیل ارزش سمبولیک فرهنگ واژگان دهخدا برای زبان فارسی.
آنچه در اینجا مطرح است دو سوال اصلیست -بانیان اصلی جه کسانی هستند و این کینه عمیقشان نسبت به ایران و ایرانی و هر آنچه باعث پیشرفت ما در طول تاریخ شده از کجا
سرچشمه میگیرد؟ عدم دوستی عربها نسبت به ما چیز پنهانی نیست ولی اگر دقت کنید و
رفتار ایشان را بررسی نمایید میبینید که با اصرار تلاش داشته اند از ایران دور بمانند .و به این
طریق هم گفته باشند ما نیستیم و هم اینکه ما میدانیم از کجاست.
