"It won't hurt you Dick & Joker has a nice balloon for you once it's over."
(Just had to use this set up one more time, before it gets broken up)
And I’m back with another part of my 1930s version of a gothic Batcave.
The Batcomputer was a tricky thing to build, since computers in the 30 were somewhat rare, hahaha.
I based the design on the Mark I , since Batman has always been ahead of the times.
I took the single computer units, put each one in a gothic cabinet and connected them.
My version of the Batcave is rather vertically oriented and as a result, I put the cabinets on top of each other and not just side by side.
In the foreground you can see a punched card writer and behind it a card sorter .
I’ve been quiet for some time, due to some health problems, but mainly due to the fact that I’m working on several projects simultaneously.
At least I finished a part of one of the larger projects. I’m not going to build the whole Batcave in one huge MOC, but decided to create segments, all of them based on the same style.
In my version of the Batcave, I continue the gothic theme that was already part of my Arkham Asylum , which means, that I combined gothic architecture with a typical limestone cave, while all is set in the late 1930s/early 1940s.
This first MOC shows Batman’s and Robin’s costume displays. This is the cave’s upper level. A spiral staircase was built inside the huge stalactite which leads directly to the changing area where Bruce and Dick already left their suits.
Had this idea cooking in my head around the time Detective #1000 came out but I just couldn’t quite fit it into the schedule because of SHAZAM coming out around the same time. Honestly, I was just messing around with figures (like my newest Nightwing fig from Giovani Customs/MinifigMadness) instead of sorting or editing or doing anything actually productive... and this is what I came up with! Two different vague iterations of Batman’s history based on his ridiculous fashion choices.
Patreon has some bonus content as well, like the lighting and the build/set-up for both of these independent photoshoots!
Other than that, I’m just gonna keep it short and to the point today :P

Robin came today. Unfortunately, he came dented and scuffed and with a loose head. His head flops really bad. The head, I'm pretty confident I could fix. However, he has some dents/gouges on his abdomen. The packaging was in pristine shape and well sealed, so, I can only speculate that the damage occurred at the factory prior to packaging.

Left to Right
Dick Grayson Robin: Really like how he came out. went with brighter green with him.
Nightwing: Painted the red eyes on the new Nightwing head white. Might touch them up at some point.
Tim Drake Robin: You've seen him before, bu I still love his look. Inspired by sharpspeed.
Red Hood: Again, seen him before. Still works amazingly.
Jason Todd Robin: This was the hardest for me to design. I played around with him having a baleclava, and no mask, but in the end i settled with what you see.

Hope you enjoy :)

Featuring Bucky Grayson the Boy Wonder, Alfred Fury, and the White Skull!
Credit to andhe :-) and Hobbestimus for the Bucky/Robin and Alfred Fury ideas. :P
Dick Grayson was completely in awe of the Pick a Brick wall at the LEGO Store in the Mall of America. He and I visited the store while traveling for work.
Shout out to Wes at the store for hooking me up with a Batman accessory pack during out visit.
I shot this with my Olympus TG-3 which I typically travel with when I don't have my Sony A6300. I like the camera, but I'm worried it's started to show it's age in bit when it comes to IQ.
May have to look for a new point and shoot replacement at some point.
Wanted to enter bastion's contest, so I was inspired by the titans rebirth, and made this. Technically Nightwing and Kid Flash aren't new, but the rest are, and it would be wrong not to include them. #EagleLand400
Top row:
Red lantern Spiderman: When uncle Ben got killed, Peter was filled with rage. The ring came towards him and chose him. When Peter got the ring he followed the man who killed his uncle. He killed the man and became a red lantern who had the name Spiderman.
Bottom row:
Blue lantern Nightwing (Dick Grayson): When Nightwing was sitting on a roof near Blüdhaven, he saw something flying in the sky. When he looked closer, he saw that it was coming at him. He tried to run away, but it was too fast. He saw that it was a blue lantern ring and he tought that he wasn't ready for the responsibility. But he knew that he couldn't run forever, so he stopped put the ring around his fingee and became a blue lantern.
Green lantern Robin (Damian Wayne): When his father became a green lantern, he wanted to be one too. So, he started to try and have more willpower but he failed over and over again. Until, on a night, Batman, his father, came to him and teached him how to have more willpower and after a long time of training, he saw something green flying in the sky. The ring came towards him and he took the ring and put it on his finger. He now was a green lantern and he fought side by side with his father.
I hope you guys like them. I probably won't win because the other entries are hella good, but it was still fun to enter. So, hopefully you like it (:
Batman: Joker, go directly to jail.
Joker: Can I collect $200? I have no money to pay the fine.
Batman: Try rolling doubles three times in a row to get out of jail...
Robin: There should be loadsa visitors and so I'd better lay a hotel on Connecticut Avenue to earn a huge profit! Yay!

Got the new teen titans figures wanted to re-create my old teen titans photo with updated figures. really like the outcome
Left To Right
Beast Boy: More or less the official figure, but I changed the crotch piece from purple to black, and it looks way better!
Starfire: I'll be honest, I didn't love the official figure. Mainly that her hair was the wrong color, so I gave her dark red instead.
Robin: my Dick Grayson Robin I posted a bit ago. Thought about posting Nightwing instead, but I thought this robin design worked really well with this bunch.
Cyborg: Not to much has changed with him. Still looks great.
Raven: The only one who has yet to appear as an official Lego figure. Her cape/hood is cape madness. The torso and legs are new as well.
I've always liked the fact that Bats has to rely on knowledge and skill rather super powers. It definitely sets him apart in a world overrun by aliens, amazons, and mermen.
Bought 2 of these from bigbadtoystore.com back in November 2016 with the intentions of always painting one of them.
I used Citadel paints (base) to add the blue, flesh and metal to the escrima sticks. I cheated and didn't strip down the statue with acetone and start from scratch. Luckily the paints were pretty opaque and I barely needed to layer in multiple coats. I will probably still spray seal the statue as I haven't done that yet.
As a note to others thinking about buying the standard black and white Nightwing... I was really disappointed with the paint job in general. Previous B&W statues have a much more consistent paint job and didn't really have any blemishes. There were a lot of mistakes, touch ups and cover ups that were poorly executed on Nightwing. I haven't done it yet, but I am tempted to go over all the black with a new coat of paint to remove the imperfections.
The escrima stick in the left hand is clearly glued in from each end. For my B&W statue, the escrima stick doesn't line up straight and is crooked.
The sculpt is pretty good though and pretty accurate to the Jim Lee Nightwing in the Hush storyline. If I had a complaint, it's in the face. It's a little too angular and harsh. This will sound a little weird, but I wish the facial features were a bit softer. When the face is in B&W, it kind of looks like a Nightwing who was exposed to Joker's venom.
Here is what's good.

really happy with the effect i did with this. I took photos of each then combined them like this.
Left to RIght
Beast Boy: seen him before
Raven: maybe my favorite. The cape and hood are from cape madness.
Robin: Nothing new i think
Cyborg: wanted to add more blue into the color scheme, so i changed the arms to translucent blue, which looks great.
Starfire: i added green into her eyes.
I love this classic Robin action figure. It was initially produced in the mid-1980s, but I believe I acquired this one in 1989, around the time of the first Tim Burton Batman film.
This photo was another bokeh experiment. The friendly people at www.horaczko.com were nice enough to send me some of their bokeh filters to play with. I thought the bat filter would be fun with Robin.

If Nolan had filmed a nightwing movie, I could have imagined he'd look like that.
Your opinion?
Hätte Nolan einen NIghtwing-Film gedreht, dann hätte ich mir Dick Grayson so vorgestellt.
Eure Meinung dazu?
AKA Richard "Dick" Grayson, the protector of Bludhaven. After years of experience, the former protege of the Batman has become a new hero.
Part of the Heroes We Deserve project for BFVA 2017.
My second character for my "secret" project for BrickFair VA 2017. Though I'm posting him second, he was actually second-to-last to be completed. I did a basic Google / Flickr search, and I couldn't find any decent character builds of Nightwing. So I thought, why not add him to the collection?
The symbol on his chest was one of the most complicated designs to do for this collection of figures, but actually not the hardest. Overall I'm pretty satisfied with how it came out. This particular version of Nightwing was modeled after his appearance on Young Justice, but I decided to add the spikes to his gauntlets, like Batman's, to maybe show that only recently has he become independent. The base is supposed to possibly represent some of Titans Tower.
Enjoy!

Through the creations that I build, I hope to inspire other young (or perhaps older) LEGO builders to unleash their inner creativity. We all need a positive way to express ourselves, so let's let LEGO be an extension of us. Your creativity belongs to you, and nobody can take that away. Build what you want to build, and how you want to build it.
