Back in the late 60's and early 1970's I used to fly in these lovely old aeroplanes with the Air Training Corps. We had regular Air Experience Flights from here at Shoreham or down at (the now long-gone) Hamble Airfield on the Solent near Southampton and also when at various ATC summer camps at such illustrious venues as, RAF Coltishall (Lightnings), RAF Scampton (Vulcans), RAF Shawbury (Vampires) and also from the MU at RAF Bicester where AEF based Chipmunks would fly daily, giving us young Cadets a taste of what aerobatics were like. Fabulous stuff!

One of the delights of childhood was going to the seaside seeing and of course riding on the open-top buses that used to cruise the promanade and if possible like here at Eastbourne go somewhere the visitors will enjoy like the foot of Beachy Head. Here they maintained the tradition of converting the oldest buses for this work and then as they got older they became of even more interest. By 1982 the half-cab Leyland Titans was getting rare out in service but nearby Brighton and Southdown still had a tiny few.

EXEMPLAIRE UNIQUE
In the early fifties, the coachbuilder Pininfarina tied links with several British manufacturers. Rover made part thereof . The Turin coachbuilder reserved a last minute surprise visitors to the London Motor Show 1953. He exhibited a beautiful convertible Rover intended to produce small series The project was abandoned but Pininfarina realized another prototype on the same drawing , it s ' this time was a cut out on the mechanics of the Rover 90 for its part, the HJMulliner coachbuilder produced two replicas of the convertible.
The mechanical basis of this study is borrowed from the Rover 75 , one of the models of Generation Rover P4 which marked the rebirth in 1949 and reaffirmed its commitment
individualism.
d'individualisme.
