The deviled eggs Shobhit and I made for the party, using garbanzo beans for much of the filling -- and topped with a mix of red pepper powder and paprika.
We figured it doesn't really matter what kind of potluck you're going to, you really can't go wrong with deviled eggs, and we were right! Every one of them got eaten.
