Finished. Home time for more hacking. So you get an idea of what the board looks like after discussions.

A quick shot from the Agile NZ September conference in 2015.

Mayor Ras J. Baraka, members of the Newark Municipal Council, Deputy Mayor for Economic and Housing Development Baye Adofo-Wilson, and Director of Health and Community Wellness Dr. Hanaa Hamdi broke ground for the City of Newark’s first stand-alone health center today, at 276-300 Clinton Avenue, in the City’s South Ward.

The Center is part of the Model Neighborhood Initiative, a collaborative effort by multiple city departments, private sector organizations, and residents to transform residents into model communities of prosperity and high quality of life. The site is across the street from the recently condemned Stratford Place apartments that were a major blight on the neighborhood. The facility is named for the first African-American in the nation to graduate from a licensed nursing school.

The Kuttanad system is a complex mosaic of fragmented agricultural landscapes divided in three structures: wetlands used for paddy activities and fish catching, garden lands used for coconut, tubers and food crops plantation and water areas used as inland fishing and shells. Wetlands are created thanks to the construction of polders with bunds and its dewatering.

Baku, Azerbaijan - Public hearings on the Civil Service Code Draft with a focus on capacity development issues were held on April 12, 2016. The event was organized within the framework of the joint project “Support to the Civil Service Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in implementation of the Institutional Reform Plan within the comprehensive Institutional Building Programme”, funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Azerbaijan.

The objective of the public hearings is to increase public awareness about the Civil Service Code Draft, to ensure its transparency, to generate dialogues with involvement of NGOs and civil societies, to get both general and specific feedback from a broad group of participants and to promote and facilitate the approval of the Code.

The Civil Service Code Draft is developed by Civil Service Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, with aim to improve current legislation on civil service and eliminate gaps in existing legislation.

The Code consists of 7 Parts, 26 Chapters and 146 Articles. The UNDP project conducted a review and analysis of all Chapters and Articles,

stipulating management and delivery of trainings, re-trainings and professional development of civil servants, identified the gaps impeding the development of the professional civil service and developed a set of recommendations that were incorporated to the draft.

The improved legislation, namely the Civil Service Code Drafts, will increase the quality and reliability of public services and will support the continuing professional development of civil servants. It will create an efficient, responsive, transparent and accountable public administration and will lead to effective governance which is aligned with the country’s strategic vision and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
