Agribusiness Development Activity is aimed at the transformation from ineffective subsistence farming to commercial, profitable agribusiness through the disbursement of matching grants and the provision of technical and market information assistance. Grants are awarded through competition on the co-financing basis for the development of small value-adding enterprises, farm service centers, value chain and primary production in any region of Georgia. The project will help develop agribusiness and create new job opportunities.
This public fórum, held on 23 April 2018 in Maputo, shared the results of the report on the business landscape for Mozambican manufacturing firms.
The event shed light on the current challenges faced by micro-, small- and medium-sized firms in the country’s manufacturing sector — and how policy can tackle these issues to allow firms to thrive. Special attention was paid to the business environment in which these enterprises operate.

I'm not sure if the older white building is part of the development at the southwest corner of Broadway and Spruce but the building on the left is for sure.

near lake forest, IL. they're turning everything into condos. either using the old mansions from the days of "marshall fields" and "gimbels" for offices or simply tearing them down. the top photo is a dislpay of potential houses on the property, they're hung in the library of this really nice old mansion, the bottom are really old oak trees on the property. as dave eggers wrote about lake forest and their trees,
"see, this was a town that really took pride in it's trees. and for good reason; we had some really nice god damned trees. we had signs all over: "tree city usa" we loved those signs"
it's true. my dad was tearing down some of the buildings on this property and they had spacial notes from the lake forest tree comittee or some bullshit, that at all costs the tress must be spared. hard to do when you're tearing down a 60-80 foot tall chapel that's litterally 5-10 feet from the 200 year old oak trees.

One of my favorite shows ever. The humor was unstoppable, maybe only equal to the Office's humor.
Stupid TV bastards canceled it after three seasons, though. Still, a great show that I rewatch from time to time.

24, 25, and 26 May 2023, Barcelona – The Union for the Mediterranean, in collaboration with ANIMA Investment Network will organize a Conference on “Aligning investments with sustainability and corporate responsibility – The digitalization of impact measurement’’, in Barcelona (Palau Reial de Pedralbes) with the support of the German Development Cooperation and EBSOMED.
Investments, particularly Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), are intended to contribute to the socioeconomic development of host countries by creating decent jobs, generating income, favoring technology transfer and skills development, and boosting productive sectors and services, among other advantages. However, not all FDI necessarily positively affect environmental and social aspects when it comes to their own business model and impact.
Worldwide commitments, for example, the Paris Agreement on climate change, the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and the EU Directive on Corporate Sustainability Reporting, set out a series of principles and guidelines which promote environmental sustainability and social inclusion. In this framework, it is crucial for Business Support Organizations and Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs) to scrutinize investment projects based on sustainable international standards to prioritize those which are economically profitable, environmentally sustainable, and socially inclusive.
In this context, this joint Conference will be the occasion to showcase several initiatives aiming at driving private investments towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals as well as to have an exchange on how to use concrete tools to assess their performance in terms of economic, environmental, and social effects.
This event is intended for participants from the UfM countries representing:
Public institutions, private sector and business support organizations
Investment Promotion Agencies IPAs
Investors and international financing and development institutions
Think tanks and Research Centers
The UfM will sponsor up to 30 participants from non-EU countries based on their profile and geographical and gender balance. Selected peopled will be contacted in due course.

Workforce Development Programs Team – Regional Office
To recruit a diverse workforce, the Southern Region strategically invested in the Resource Assistant and Public Land Corps Programs. This award focuses on the collaborative work of Region 8’s Workforce Development Programs Team for leading the agency in hiring more than 100 new employees from outside the agency using special hiring authorities to make an impact across our workforce.
Each year, the Southern Region hires between 80 to 120 new employees from outside the agency. Traditional hiring paths continue to result in primarily white, male dominant applicants. To increase the diversity of the workforce to reflect the populations they serve, the Southern Region strategically invested in the Resource Assistant Program (RAP) and Public Land Corps Program (PLC).
The collaborative work of Region 8’s Workforce Development Programs Team was recently recognized with a 2021 Regional Forester’s Honor Award for excelling in hiring across the agency using special hiring authorities to increase diversity among its workforce. This year, the Southern Region hired 41 permanent employees that were Public Lands Corps and Resource Assistant Program certificate holders, the largest number hired throughout the Forest Service.
The Southern Region Volunteers and Service Team, Recruitment Team, and Human Resource Team, together, built effective systems and processes to allow for this success.
“We were diligent in bridging gaps between our three program areas,” said Kelly Balcarczyk, volunteers and service program manager for the Southern Region’s Workforce Development Programs Team. “Examples of this include capacity sharing and launching information sessions to coach managers about hiring, specifically using special authorities.”
The team strategically and intentionally created a process which greatly improved our communication between partners, field offices, hiring managers, HR, and our executive team, added Balcarczyk.
Special hiring authorities are known to significantly decrease the amount of time spent by hiring managers throughout the HR process.
“The RAP program was a great tool this year to reach diverse, Forest Service trained, high quality candidates with varied backgrounds,” said Balcarczyk.
The number one factor in improving the quality of our forests and grasslands is the caliber of the employees we hire and how they are trained. To further support and nurture newly hired employees, the team sought out leadership and created opportunities for mentor/mentee relationships development. Overall, this enhances the Southern Region to recruit, hire and retain high quality individuals.

Test run of a macro subject taken indoors with two desk lamps - exposed from 1s-9s @ f8-32(normalised to current temps with the Massive dev-chart app on the iPhone). These rolls were the first to be developed using guidance from www.rogerandfrances.com with their excellent advice on reduing fixing time with the spot-test (now down to 2-min fix) and using COLD water for washing to prevent emulsion scratching on final squeegee.
30s presoak in COLD tap-water, NO distilled water as Stourport tapwater is just fine (although remembering Roger & Francis advice to use filtered water for final wash when I move to hard-water Malvern). No stop-bath, just swill out twice with cold tap-water.
