Charles J. Rzepka - Detective Fiction. Polity Press. 2005. The cover uses the original cover of Mignon G. Eberhardt's The Glass Slipper (1941)
The name Eberhardt isn't even mentioned in the book. For me as a reader of classic detective fiction it's amazing how a writer dares to base a "cultural history" on the discussion of half a dozen authors.
The synopsis for " Secret of the Beast Paintings " - after summoning Batman and Robin to an Egyptian dig site where the two heroes fight a pair of alien monsters, Prof. Carter Nichols sends the Dynamic Duo to the past, where they must liberate ancient Egyptians from alien invaders...... Love this silliness .
Back-up strips include Martian Manhunter and Aquaman .

This is the gun we used for our short film "Rift"
Its a Maverick Nerf gun custom painted.
We wanted a revolver, but more "futuristic" looking.
This is a mock up of the sight that will appear in the next film.
The theme of "Rift" is a detective story mixed with a "sci-fi", "Steampunk", "cyber future" feel.

The synopsis for " The Creature from the Bat-Cave " - An alien creature called a Rukk is loose and rampant in Gotham City, and Batman and Robin are out to capture it..... Fantastic nonsense , I love it !

I got to play a detective in the Regent University endowed film More Than filmed in the Fall of 2017. It was the first film set I ever worked on and it was great. I love this outfit and still have it. Those are real handcuffs from working security back in the day. The two main actors are sitting on the table. The writer is in red. The producer is in black. More Than was written by Victoria Brooks and directed by Kiel Thorlton.
Hope he's as cute in person; there are a lot of knock offs out there and it's hard to know which are being misrepresented.
The roof of the van is removable, so you can get at the drivers seat to place a figure such as the CMF Series 12 "Pizza Delivery Guy" there. The rear of the van holds two pizza's in the warmer.

This place, now a solicitor's was the office in 1888 of Leicester's first Private Detective, who disguised hmself using a variety ofhats. The building is now known as Top Hat Terrace.
1920's issue Private Detective (PD) shield used in the state of New Jersey. It is a Die Stamped badge from a solid nickel sheet. Sometimes these were provided to those with political connections to legally justify carrying a concealed revolver/pistol. This is in addition to the real Private Detectives who also had these issued badges. Quite a few retired LEO's (Law Enforcement Officers) became Private Detectives and used their informal existing ties to Police Departments for information to aid their investigations.
Many Police Forces didn't get along with PD's because they sometimes covered for their clients and diverted the evidence trail. This specific badge was copied by dozens of other follow-on badge companies. The difference is the other companies designs had less detail and poor stampings and looked cheap. Also the back of this pictured badge is stamped "made in the USA" The imitation badges are made in off shore countries. A few children's badges are stamped from old re-cycled tin cans and have the original advertising on the back of the badge. If anyone is interested then I can also include some children's imitation badges ?

"You're Nobody 'Til Somebody Kills You" is a Hip Hop thriller Executive Produced by Spike Lee and written and directed by his protégé Michael A. Pinckney. "You're Nobody 'Til Somebody Kills You" is an action packed and gritty story of two New York City homicide detectives that are forced into the high-stakes world of the hip hop industry. A complex web of murder, sex, money and music unfolds as the homicide detectives track a serial killer with an appetite for some of hip hop's biggest stars. Detective Charles Johnson, a twenty-seven year veteran of the New York City Police force, is on the heels of retirement when a killer strikes. The murders are not random acts of violence however; they're by the hands of a serial killer whose victims happen to be some of the Rap industry's biggest stars. In an effort to catch the killer, Joseph Francelli, a young and hip detective from the special divisions unit is brought onto the case to assist Detective Johnson in protecting Manchild, a rising star, struggling with the decline of hip hop, causing him to re-evaluate his life. The film concludes with the detectives bringing the killer to justice in this urban thriller with an unexpected twist at the end, in true Hitchcockian grandeur.
