Things are looking quite grim for Victoria Park after Hurricane Fiona, the gorge area in particular. Surprisingly, Joseph Howe and Waddell Falls areas are pretty much intact. I'll have to see what's going on in the upper park later, but my guess is that it's fared better than the lower park which is defined by its extensive gorge with steep slopes (once) populated by thick old growth Eastern Hemlock trees..

yeahh so i finally have power back! i havn't had it since saturday night. Huge strom came through my town, basically looked like a tornado. more then half the town was left without power, if you had power you were one of the lucky ones. My neighbor got a generator on monday night so we got to hook up to it and we got our refrigerator running and heat upstairs. We had no hot water for 3 days. I had to shower at friends houses in different towns. Not fun at all. And it was funny because we stil had school all week the school had power so everyone would bring everything they need to charge to school ahha.
These are 2 of the about 120 trees that fell in my town. I might have a few more pictures from this day i still have to look. But on tthe bright side i get my cast off in two weeks from today!!! (:
2 years after a strong Hurricane
swept through this area and caused major damage to the forest and wildlife

This is what carbondioxide and helium naturally leaking out of the ground at the north side of Horseshoe Lake, Mammoth California has done to the forest. It was once a popular camping and cross country skiing area.
Probando nuevas ideas y conceptos.
Inspirados un poco en imagenes de Alberto Seveso y un diseño que vi por ahi, pero que no recuerdo donde =S.

Small Abstract series 2014
This is a small palette knife picture (18cm x 24cm) painted in April this year on one of my previously prepared brushed colour backgrounds which started me onto a series of similar type paintings with different themes but with the same style. They are pilot pictures for larger canvasses and were great for practising the technique after so many years.
This picture is called 'Destruction' or any other name you wish to give it but it immediately reminded me of the terrible day of 9/11.
I therefore post this today as a tribute to all those who lost their lives that infamous day and to all those brave souls who did all they could to save lives. They all have my utmost respect and admiration.
There's hip articulation to the first ratchet but without ankle joints he can only do this casual stance, like he's pondering which city to destroy next.

And tell me over and over and over and over again my friend
You don't believe we're on the eve of destruction

as seen from my window ...
The biggest and most impressive single "piece" of fire we passed. LG actually saw one of these trees fall.
Single exposure with no editing. 183 seconds ..
Used 2 lenses swapped mid exposure and 3 tripods to get firstly a toy monster truck to crush my friends car, and secondly to put me in the cab :)
Inspired by a brain storming session with Tobias Thompson one night a while back ... done it now pal ;)
At the American Cemetary near Omaha Beach in Normandy. The precision of these crosses and stars in bright white natural stone is awesome. A peaceful yet powerful place to visit.
The front door of the fire station at Crows Landing, a former NASA/Navy auxiliary airfield in the San Joaquin Valley. The way workers had professionally gutted the interior, you could tell this building was a short-timer. To enhance this scene's squareness I needed to line up the verticals as best as I could, so I set the tripod to maximum height: about 9 feet. With no ladder on hand to view through the finder, I pointed my camera's swivel LCD straight down and looked up to compose with test shots. Ended up needing to fine tune it in Photoshop anyway. This side of the building was totally sealed, so I had to run round back to enter and backlight the plastic sheeting in the windows. 120-seconds, full moon.
Destruction Island Lighthouse is a decommissioned lighthouse on Destruction Island, a rocky island that is part of the Quillayute Needles National Wildlife Refuge lying about 3 miles (4.8 km) off the coast of Jefferson County, Washington, in the northwest of the United States.
The Coast Guard shut off the light for good in April 2008. The structure is now under the management of U.S Fish & Wildlife, Quillayute Needles National Wildlife Refuge, and is closed to the public. The lighthouse is visible in the distance from U.S. Route 101 at Ruby Beach about 5 miles (8.0 km) north of Kalaloch.
