Milkweeds are commonly infested by the oleander aphid, Aphis nerii. These little insects suck the sap out of stems, leaves, and can cause flowers and pods to abort, and can even kill plants. They concentrate milkweed toxins in their tissue more effectively than native milkweed aphids, and studies have shown that beneficial insects are less effective at controlling them. Aphids can be many colors, such as green, black, brown, pink, yellow, white, and blue (really?) and even furry ( wooly aphids ).

I've seen many forests destroyed by human and his brainless greediness, but this one, located in National Park of High Tatras was affected by several natural disasters, like severe storms and fires. Spruce forests in Smokovec are recovering slowly and hopefully, one day, they will restore their previous glory.

At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. - Abraham Lincoln, 1838
When you accept violence
When you accept things against your own conscience
When you let yourself be hurt
When you do what you know you don't like:
Then you lose yourself
You shatter into a thousand pieces
And you are not alive.

2 Thessalonians 2:3 “You must not let anyone deceive you at all. For that is not until the rebellion takes place and the embodiment of disobedience makes his appearance—he (the antichrist) who is doomed to destruction.”
Built between 1893 and 1903, the Winter Palace is where Mongolia’s eighth Living Buddha, and last king, Jebtzun Damba Hutagt VIII (often called the Bogd Khan), lived.
In the best tradition of all good Buddhists, the man had a passion for killing animals. Here there is a whole museum bristling with the stuffed remains of the exotic animals he slaughtered, not to mention the pelts of those who escaped the taxidermist's attention.
For reasons that are unclear, the palace was spared destruction by the Russians who turned it into a museum. The Russians levelled all his other palaces in the city.

The southern ocean takes its toll on these wonderful limestone sea stacks each year, eroding them further so that eventually they all crumble into the sea.
Psalm 91:6-7 King James Version (KJV)
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
Another winter shot from Kilfarrasy beach on the Copper Coast a couple of years ago.
"This is part of an attractive stretch of coastline known as the Copper Coast. The name arose because of the mainly 19th century copper mining activities in the area. These finished long ago but there are a few relics remaining. Kilfarrasy Beach is one of the most attractive parts of the Copper Coast, although falling rocks are a potential danger here."

I am thankful, not have been here at the time, when the earthquake took place and the ground sank down so deep! Destruction has drawn a dramatic and beautiful scene here! And next we will go down there!

With so many being homeless and in utter torment for their lives this year throughout the world I thought it appropriate to give a shout out to them and tell them that we on Flickr really care! And I want to especially thank Robbi Robbins (brillianthues) for allowing me to use one of her beautiful works.
Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Four and a half miles out from Ruby beach towers an island in the shape of a skeletal human hand. It's 80' above sea level and 33 acres around. On this sunless day the name didn't help its gloomy appearance accentuated by an abandoned 92' lighthouse standing darkly in the distance like something straight out of the Lord of the Rings. The reefs around the island are known to have claimed three ships over the years, but that's not where the name came from. In the late 1700's two different ships twelve years apart sent a long boat to shore to collect wood and water, neither returned.
Today, visiting the island is prohibited to all but research scientists who go there to check up on what is almost the Tufted Puffin's last stand in Washington State. They make their homes by burrowing into the loose soil atop the sandstone beneath and have no natural predators as there are no eagles or hawks out there.
For you Fresnel Lens fans, the original light, in service from 1892-1995, was rescued and is preserved and displayed at the Westport Maritime Museum. It's beautiful.

Man, do not pride yourself on your superiority to the animals, for they are without sin, while you, with all your greatness, you defile the earth wherever you appear and leave an ignoble trail behind you -- and that is true, alas, for almost every one of us!
Fyodor Dostoyevsky, The Brothers Karamazov
Westport-Washington State
One of the most spectacular exhibits at the Westport Maritime Museum is a working first-order Fresnel lighthouse lens that came from the Destruction Island lighthouse, located 57 miles north of Westport. Constructed in 1890 in France, the lens contains twenty-four bull's-eyes and 1,176 prisms.
The 94- foot tall ironclad conical Destruction Island lighthouse was an important aid to navigation for mariners along the Pacific coastline for 117 years. The light was first lit on New Year's Eve at 4:26 p.m. in 1891 and remained in service until the U.S. Coast Guard removed the lens from the isolated lighthouse in the spring of 1995. A modem automated light replaced the first order Fresnel lens, which was placed in temporary storage. In April 2008, the Coast Guard shut off the automated beacon after determining that with mariners relying on modem onboard navigation equipment, the light was no longer needed.
