Essa vista da Ponte das Artes sofreu uma significativa mudança em 2015, após decisão do prefeito Bruno Julliard para a remoção das grades lotadas de cadeados (pesando 45 toneladas) devido à degradação, oferecendo risco à navegação no Rio Sena e desabamento.
Havia todo um simbolismo no ato de prender um cadeado para selar o seu amor nas grades ponte, na cidade conhecida como a "cidade do amor".
A ponte foi construída em 1804 durante o regime de Napoleão Bonaparte, e reconstruída no início dos anos 80.

Ce Pinson en mue nourrit encore une nichée tardive... il est vrai que le printemps en altitude ne s'est pas montré avant au mieux la mi-juin cette année !
Cet oiseau exploite la pelouse des alpages en négligeant les pins à crochets et sylvestres proches... sans doute moins riches en insectes en ce moment ! Les blocs de roche épars lui servent de point d'observation.

The Des Plaines Theater opened in 1926 as a vaudeville palace under the ownership of the Polka Brothers. The architects were Betts & Holcum, who created its interior in lavish Spanish Baroque style with seating for 1,000 patrons, an orchestra pit, and a grand organ. The exterior was Art Deco style, complete with a brightly colored, patterned terra cotta façade.
This theater spent a couple decades awkwardly split into 2-screen format, but has since been returned to its original configuration.

Um 1760 wurde östlich der beiden Klosterkirchen ein Garten im barocken Stil errichtet, der sich auf einer Fläche von ca. 4 ha in einen Abts- und in einen Konventgarten gliedert. Der Klostergarten gilt heute als einziger Barockgarten im Land Brandenburg. 2008 wurde der zentrale Teil nach Restaurierung der Öffentlichkeit übergeben, 2014 weitere Teile im Bereich des Spiegelteichs und des Konventsgartens. Eine weitere, etwa gleich große Fläche, die von Kleingärtnern bewirtschaftet wurde, wird zur Zeit Schritt für Schritt freigezogen, sodass in den nächsten Jahren auch dort der Barockgarten wiederhergestellt werden kann.
About 1760, a garden in Baroque style was created to the East of the monastery's two churches. This garden situated below the monastery in the Oder lowlands covers an area of about 4 ha, divided in an abbot's garden and a convent garden, the latter serving the common monks. It is considered the only purely Baroque garden in still existent in the State of Brandenburg. In 2008, the central part was opened to the public after thorough renovation works, followed in 2014 by areas around the Mirror Pool and in the Convent Garden. An adjacent area of about the same size, used until recently for allotment gardening, is being gradually evacuated with the aim of restoring the complete Baroque Garden.
Le marché des esclaves est un excellent exemple de la capacité de Dalí à créer des hallucinations critiques paranoïaques. Dali a été fasciné toute sa vie par l'illusion d'optique, inspiré en partie par la visualisation des œuvres d'Arcimboldo du XVIe siècle.
Pour cette double image particulièrement réussie, la représentation de Dalí de cette apparition est créée en incorporant le célèbre buste du sculpteur français Jean-Antoine Houdon : le Buste de Voltaire en 1778. Dans la composition, l'arrangement de deux femmes portant un costume espagnol du XVIIe siècle crée le buste de Voltaire. Le sommet de la tête de Voltaire est souligné par l’ouverture du mur en ruine ; les têtes des femmes deviennent ses yeux, leurs colliers deviennent ses joues supérieures et son nez, la partie sombre de leurs vêtements devient les ombres projetées par son nez et ses joues, et les manches blanches de la figure de droite forment le menton de Voltaire. Les plats de fruits créent également une double illusion : la pomme dans le bol central semble être l’arrière de la figure à l’arrière-plan ; la poire dans le plat à droite se dissout dans la colline au loin.
Les surréalistes aimaient ridiculiser le célèbre philosophe en soulignant qu'il se contredisait souvent, mais qu'ils aimaient l'une de ses œuvres les plus connues, Candide, parce qu'elle attaquait l'optimisme philosophique des années précédentes. Avec la disparition du buste de Voltaire, Voltaire disparait derrière le marché aux esclaves, comme si le philosophe disparaissait derrière l’actionnaire de la traite qu’il était ! Dali a donné un indice quant au sens du tableau : " Par son amour patient, Gala me protège du monde ironique et grouillant des esclaves. Gala dans ma vie détruit les images de Voltaire et tout vestige de scepticisme possible ".

The slave market is an excellent example of Dalí's ability to create paranoid critical hallucinations. Dali has been fascinated all his life by the optical illusion, inspired in part by the visualization of the works of Arcimboldo of the sixteenth century.
For this particularly successful double image, Dalí's portrayal of this apparition is created by incorporating the famous bust of the French sculptor Jean-Antoine Houdon: the Bust of Voltaire in 1778. In the composition, the arrangement of two women wearing a Spanish costume of the seventeenth century creates the bust of Voltaire. The top of Voltaire's head is emphasized by the opening of the ruined wall; the heads of women become her eyes, their collars become her upper cheeks and her nose, the dark part of their clothes becomes the shadows cast by her nose and her cheeks, and the white sleeves of the figure on the right form Voltaire's chin. The fruit dishes also create a double illusion: the apple in the central bowl seems to be the back of the figure in the background; the pear in the dish on the right dissolves in the hill in the distance.
The surrealists liked to ridicule the famous philosopher by pointing out that he often contradicted himself, but that they liked one of his most famous works, Candide, because it attacked the philosophical optimism of the previous years. With the disappearance of the bust of Voltaire, Voltaire disappears behind the slave market, as if the philosopher disappeared behind the shareholder of the trade that he was! Dali gave a clue as to the meaning of the painting: "By his patient love, Gala protects me from the ironic world and swarming slaves Gala in my life destroys the images of Voltaire and any vestige of possible skepticism".
