My latest interest - playing with the mask and bright paint colours, including glittering glues!
Watching the Phantom of Opera at the West End (UK) last Dec 2006 inspired me to bring different personas to the blank faces of the masks, consequently bring mysterious characters to the masks.
This particular design was inspired by numerous cultural festivals being held in the Philippines.
A buddy of mine came up with this concept for a summer job to do with some friends, so they asked me to come up with a flyer design, and this is what I ended up with.
Organic imagery handpainted on walnut panels. Coated with a UV gloss finish to protect and deepen both the color and wood grain. Each panel, due to an internal frame, floats off the wall an extra .75”. Painted image extends over the sides and exposed wood banding on the edges adds a third design element.
Contre-collage rembordé — Fermeture par aimants — Habillage sur carton — Pelliculage anti-rayures, mat, brillant…
Last picture from my campus apartment. I think the mental institution atmosphere of the place is pretty evident.
