This was created using the Ring of Fire technique. I had to tweak the method a little bit since I couldn't find the kind of pipe in the article, but the kind I found produces a rainbow effect which I like a lot.

Hibiscus is a genus of flowering plants in the mallow family, Malvaceae. The genus is quite large, comprising several hundred species that are native to warm temperate, subtropical and tropical regions throughout the world. Member species are renowned for their large, showy flowers and those species are commonly known simply as "hibiscus", or less widely known as rose mallow.

The genus includes both annual and perennial herbaceous plants, as well as woody shrubs and small trees. The generic name is derived from the Greek name ἰβίσκος (hibiskos) which Pedanius Dioscorides gave to Althaea officinalis (c. 40–90 AD).

Several species are widely cultivated as ornamental plants, notably Hibiscus syriacus and Hibiscus rosa-sinensis.

A tea made from hibiscus flowers is known by many names around the world and is served both hot and cold. The beverage is known for its red color, tart flavor, and vitamin C content.

Hibiscus is een geslacht van circa 200 tot 220 soorten bloemplanten uit de familie Malvaceae, dat van nature voorkomt in mediterrane, subtropische en tropische gebieden over de hele wereld. Het geslacht omvat zowel eenjarige, vaste planten, houtige struiken als kleine bomen.

De bladeren zijn verspreid geplaatst, enkelvoudig, ovaal tot lancetvormig met vaak een gezaagde of gelobde rand. De bloemen zijn groot, opvallend en trompetvormig. De kleuren variëren van wit, roze, rood, paars of geel en zijn 4–15 cm breed. De vruchten zijn droge, vijfhokkige doosvruchten, die meerdere zaden per hok bevatten. De zaden komen tevoorschijn als de doosvrucht bij volledige rijpheid openklapt.

Veel soorten worden gekweekt voor hun opvallende bloemen. De tuinhibiscus (Hibiscus syriacus) is de nationale plant van Zuid-Korea en de Chinese roos (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis) is de nationale plant van Maleisië. De ma‘o hau hele (Hibiscus brackenridgei) is de officiële bloem van Hawaï. De bloem wordt ook veelvuldig afgebeeld op de oorspronkelijke pareo's.

In de gematigde streken wordt de tuinhibiscus vermoedelijk het meest in de buitenlucht gekweekt. In tropische en subtropische gebieden is de Chinese roos met zijn vele opvallende cultivars de meest gekweekte soort.
