Murrine is an Italian term for colored patterns or images made in a glass cane (long rods of glass) that are revealed when cut in cross-sections. Murrine can be made in infinite designs—some styles are more familiar, such as millefiore. Artists working in glass design murrine in a variety of ways from simple circular or square patterns to complex detailed designs to even portraits of people. Murrine are designed by layering different colors of molten glass around a core, then heating and stretching it into a rod. When cool, the rod is sliced into cross-sections of desired thickness with each slice possessing the same pattern in cross-section.

The murrine process first appeared in the Mideast more than 4,000 years ago and was revived by Venetian glassmakers on Murano in the early 1500s.From Wikipedia

Fonte wikipedia

~In a world where conformity breeds acceptance, STAND TALL and go against the grain, because when every ones going the wrong way, you will be headed right

~You can STAND TALL without standing on someone. You can be a victor without having victims.

~At this critical time in our nation's history, we must remember that 'a house divided against itself cannot stand'. If we learn from the past, we can STAND TALL in the future.

~STAND TALL, stand proud. Know that you are unique and magnificent. You do not need the approval of others.

~In order to STAND TALL when the world tries to knock you down, you must first kneel before God, so He can lift you up.

~STAND TALL and be proud of what you are. Never back down from what you believe in. And never be ashamed of who you are.

~I think laughter may be a form of courage. As humans we sometimes STAND TALL and look into the sun and laugh, and I think we are never more brave than when we do that.

~When people try to put you down, just STAND TALL & it will be them who will be left feeling small

~We can STAND TALL when we stand with Him.

~To earthly wisdom honor is as gold, The strong will rule—the rest must serve instead; But our Example cut a different mold—He stooped and bathed the feet of men He led. (Standing tall for Christ means stooping to help others.)

~If you have integrity, nothing else matters. If you don't have integrity, nothing else matters. Alan Simpson

~What is a hero? Is it someone who is willing to sacrifice their life for another? Is it someone who prevents the downfall of another human being? Is it someone who defends our way of life? None of these questions can sum up to what a hero is. A hero is someone who will STAND TALL in front of the weak. A hero is someone who can stand against a majority. A hero is someone who voluntarily gives up their dreams to give that same chance of dreaming to someone less fortunate.

~The biblical character Daniel STANDS TALL in the gallery of God's remarkable servants. Born of royal heritage, yet taken into captivity when only a teenager, Daniel determined to remain faithful to God in the land of his captivity. Even at a great personal cost, Daniel spent his entire lifetime advising his captors with unusual wisdom. As an old man, having been faithful to God throughout his years, Daniel was assured by God that his faithfulness would reap a rich reward not necessarily in this life, but most certainly in the life to come."
