Great color and great brightness of the flower; it couldn't be better! I have found so many flower in this season almost anywhere.

I posted this picture to show my experiments with depth of field. Here a wine bottle is blurry while the background to the right is in focus.

This is another photograph practising the depth of field.

Since f-stop is only f-4.0, therefore, except the item I focus on, the background is all blurred.

it was fascinating watching the light change on the canyon walls. we could sit there for hours and never get the same picture twice.

Another movement shot of a butterfly. This time it appears still.

Depth of Field with my EF 50mm f/1.8

These are photos from a trip to North Carolina I took around Christmas. A lovely place indeed.

The layering on this vase was quite lovely. The photograph, not so much, but I didn't want to throw it away for the subject matter.

'Swaying in the Wind" by Miyashita Zenji (1939-2012), late 80's

Rule of composition:

- This photo decently follows the rule of Depth and its technique. Depth simply means having dimensions in a photo which include a Foreground, a Background, and a Middleground. Depth can be done by changing the aperture value on a camera to create greater or shallow depth of field which is done in this photo to have a blurry foreground and background yet keeping our subject (car) in the middleground sharp and clear.

Why its a good photo:

- As mentioned above this photo follows the Depth technique really accurately.

- The Aperture value learnt in photography classes has been applied to this photo to create a shallow depth of field in the front and back of the photo to keep the middle car clear and sharp and in focus.

- To give a different feeling to the photo that might attract viewers instead of the depth of field might be the fact that only green colours are kept in the photo and everything else is black and white.

How it could be improved:

- The colours of the trees are slightly too green and if their saturation would be altered the photo would have looked a bit more appealing. If the photographer would also match the white balance of the photo to where it was taken either in sunlight or under a fluorescent light, it would have helped make the colours in the photo look accurate.

depth of feild at 109mm, getting into to this technique and using more often everyday.

A cardboard figure of Mikael Agricola in Turku Cathedral.

With my F8.0 (F-stop) and (Shutter Speed) 1/40 the two images where at first hard to take a photo of until I finally figured what I was doing wrong and my focus wasn't on anything. I decide to do the bunny at first but figured Nightwing (The toy in the back) was further away giving me the depth of field I was practicing for and Wonder Woman (The toy in the front) being my Foreground.

Out of focus background at 250

I took this at a Vancouver Canucks hockey game. I really like how the label on the inside of the first roll of hockey tape is in focus, and the rest blurs out. I also like how I was able to capture the arena lights in the background, but it doesn't overpower the photo.

For this photo I decided to keep the middle shoe in focus, while the two others are out of focus.

The two courses together are 11 inches deep. This is good for the deeper-rooted vegetables like tomato, eggplant, and peppers.

I took this photo at f/ 1.8 and placed the model precisely under the ribbons, so they would both be in focus. This took several tries.

Even though my boy is super blurry, I liked that the viewer could still understand what was happening because the context of the swing set was clear.

This is a cool depth of field shot!

playing with a Panasonic Lumix GF1, really easy to use but it was the lens that made things looks so good.
