The black and white really allowed me to capture all the textures in this succulent and try more focus to the water drops. The depth of field really tries it all together by making it all stand out that much more.

While walking through Alphabet City, Manhattan, New York, I came across a fruit vendor. His cart caught my eye because it had an abundance of these bananas hanging off it's right side. Mixed with the bananas were Plantains also known as Plantanos.

My idea was to capture the wonderful delicious color of the fruit so good it's name is synonymous with going insane - BANANAS.

My goal was to not only capture the bananas, but show how different they are from one another. I was shooting with a Canon FD 50mm 3.5f lens on a Canon 5D mark II. Although it was very bright outside, I wanted to reduce the depth of field as much as possible, to allow the color and texture speak for the entire photo.

Ein faszinierender, psychologischer Roman.

Here I came across this shot on accident. I was trying to get the focus on the flower but instead, it captured the tanbark on the floor.

I can't decide if I love or hate this shot. the very narrow depth of field makes my brain hurt.

I chose this photo because the depth of field makes the lights look beautiful.

Not enough light, couldn't get a large dof.

But i like this ring of focus around the subect.

And i got it's head in focus.

This was taken on the Ponte Vecchio under the statue in the middle. I liked the effect of the blurry people in the background, and had to wait there many moments for people to leave the foreground.

my subject is katheryn and i focused just on her and her headband. i took it outside by the cafeteria. i achieved a small depth of field with this picture by just focusing on something small. i changed the aperture to capture the photo like this. i would've cropped the sign in the back to improve the framing

This is the first film picture I've developed. The assignment was to demonstrate use of depth of field. I know the quality really sucks but it's partially due to my scanner (the lines through the image and the photo not being straight) but hopefully I'll be able to afford a good scanner eventually and as I gain more experience with film the quality should get better.

Poppies amongst the barley.

I took this photo to complete an assignment in my Triton College photography class. It is supposed to show the front in focus, and the back out of focus.

That's what she said Simon...

The wall and background give the illusion of depth and there are two different focuses in the background, one bolder than the other, giving it balance.
