Inside the wonderful, deep fried, exterior exists the magnificant taste of cauliflower. If you drive to Greece, NY you can have this experience at the Char Broil.
And the last roll for the evening -- a panko encrusted deep fried Alaskan roll. Smoked salmon (wild, Alaskan) with green onions & cream cheese.
Aside from the far greater variety in seafood that you have when you live in a seaport with actual fishermen (fisherpersons?), one of the things I've missed from Seattle is a deep fried roll. I really miss the crunchy texture along with the warm creaminess of the cream cheese.
After this, we were too full to eat anything else. So the scallops would have to wait until the following day. The masago gunkan with quails will have to wait even longer. :(
Don't even get me started about very young asparagus or the sake that sat in the fridge and had to wait until the scallops were unfurled.
But all in all it was fun to bring out the old sushi jacket.
Despite all of the cursing.
A spot typical of the northern Yukon Territory's Ogilvie Mtn. range. I really love this area ... With all this eroded limestone, laid down on the bed of an ancient ocean around 350 million years ago, it's a fossil hunter's paradise. I think, perhaps, I am never happier than when I'm crawling around on hands and knees in these talus slopes, scouring the gravel for the petrified fragments of life preserved from a distant time before the cosmos had ever dreamed of humans ...

In the words of Dan Miller:
“Doc Watson is not just a guitar player and singer - he is an American hero. To be recognized as a "national treasure" by President Jimmy Carter, honored with the National Medal of the Arts by President Bill Clinton, and given an honorary doctorate degree from the University of North Carolina calls for being more than a fine musician and entertainer. Doc Watson received these accolades not just for his talent, but for the honor, integrity, humility, grace, and dignity which he has displayed throughout his long and distinguished career. While there are many, many great guitar players and singers; there is only one Doc Watson.”
Joining Doc will be four-time Grammy Award winner David Holt - a musician, storyteller, historian, television host and entertainer, dedicated to performing and preserving traditional American music and stories. Holt plays ten acoustic instruments and has released numerous award winning recordings of traditional mountain music and southern folktales. David is well known for work on television (Folkways/Fire on the Mountain) and radio and has been a frequent guest on Hee Haw, Nashville Now and The Grand Ole Opry."

Deep Space 12 is my take on a Cardassian Terok Nor type space station
Based off of the series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
To make up some fan-fiction for DS12 is another Federation salvaged Cardassian Nor type station near Nepenthe. Quark expanding his franchise purchased the rights to bring over everyone's favorite shops and bar from DS9 to the new station.
