A short series of 4 pictures illustrating/using the deep shadows created by the sun in the middle of a summer's day. My plan for the day was to test my Samyang 14mm f2.8 but this harsh light presented other opportunities. I take it as a bit of a bonus.

Was tempted to try and move the heavy rope from the picture until I realised it went deep...very deep and that's always a bit worrying and scary! What's at the other end?

The snow was so deep and wet, the sled didn’t move very quickly. And the end of the run left Jen a bit buried.
Back in September 2018 I was involved in the 'Hull Spirit' exhibition at Hull Minster by the crafting group We Made This . The theme was Hull's iconic people and places and each piece in the exhibition was made by crafters using a variety of techniques. A small group of us created The Deep in a variety of media. Among other things I made the Deep building (though the 'nose' was actually made by two others), and the Gentoo penguins.

This is Dexter, a boy of Siamese extraction adopted from the RSPCA in 2008. His blue eyes are striking and a pretty good indicator of what he's thinking. Right here, he's heard the rattle of cat biscuits.
