The LEGO diorama "Police Spinner Takeoff" from "BLADE RUNNER" was fully lit up with LEDs.
Seven patrol lights installed on the top of the Police Spinner incorporate two microchip LED lights each, which blink at different times to give the appearance of rotating lights.
By using 1.6mm x 0.8mm chip LED lights and ultra-thin cables, I was able to incorporate 38 lights by simply sandwiching them between parts without cutting them (with very small gaps).
A bundle of cables runs from the right rear tire area through a gap in the smoke and under the base.
In addition to the Police Spinner, even the VIDPHON, Parking Meters and lanterns were lit up. Also, the stoves in the stalls were flickering.
I've wanted my own Blade Runner blaster since forever, so I finally picked up a kiddie toy version for about ten bucks and just finished repainting it! Very excited.

"One of the best scenes in the film occurs early on, when Deckard (Harrison Ford) has an awkward meeting with Rachael (Sean Young). The music heard in this scene fits it perfectly, yet was taken from an earlier Vangelis album. The piece, 'Memories Of Green', is distinctive for its melancholy, 'drunk' piano sound. Raphael Preston: 'We used an Electroharmonix Electric Mistress flanger pedal on 'Memories Of Green', putting a Steinway Grand through it. The electronic noises on there came from one of the first hand-held electronic games, a Japanese thing called the Bambino UFO Master Blaster Station! I had to play it for the length of the piece without losing the game, because when you lost, it made the most horrible noise." After recently watching Ridley Scott's classic sci-fi thriller Blade Runner, I decided to build the flying police car, also known as the "Spinner." My MOC features opening scissor doors, interior for two minifigures, floor windows and lights, and custom decals. An aspect that I wanted to do before planning the moc was to try to make the rear bumper entirely SNOT, forming the caution stripe.
The Ennis-Brown House in Los Angeles was used as the home of Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) in the 1982 Sci-Fi flick "Blade Runner". This private home has also been used in dozens of other films including "House on Haunted Hill" and the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" TV series.
This home is located at 2655 Glendower Ave, Los Angeles.
There are fighters, bombers, interceptors, gunships and then... something bigger. The 'Duke may look like an old-fashioned Earthling fighter craft, but it is, in fact, the hot-rod, custom built steed of the man known only as Deckard.
An infamous mercenary and gun-for-fire, Deckard travels mostly alone, although sometimes recruits extra crew members to co-pilot or look after his beloved ship.
At home in space as well as atmosphere, the 'Duke packs danger, technology and menace into it's rather large package.
It's size can make it vulnerable, however, to smaller fighters and so Deckard often travels with escort fighters and interceptors.
Length: 19m
Wingspan: 18m
Crew: 1-3, mission dependent.
Armament: 2 High-Output frag-cannons, forward facing.
2 Micro-Mine launchers, wing-tip mounted.

Hands down one of most visually & aurally stimulating movies I've seen. I love Blade Runner, and absolutely adore the score by Vangelis. The narrative though, leaves something to be desired in my opinion.
The coat is custom made, but the rest are standard lego pieces. Walking on the streets, Gaff has his rimmed hat on.
Blade Runner is a 1982 American science fiction film, directed by Ridley Scott and starring Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer, and Sean Young. The screenplay, written by Hampton Fancher and David Peoples, is based loosely on the novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick.
The film depicts a dystopian Los Angeles in November 2019 in which genetically engineered organic robots called replicants—visually indistinguishable from adult humans—are manufactured by the all-powerful Tyrell Corporation as well as other mega manufacturers around the world. Their use on Earth is banned, and replicants are exclusively used for dangerous, menial or leisure work on Earth's off-world colonies. Replicants who defy the ban and return to Earth are hunted down and "retired" by police special operatives known as "blade runners". The plot focuses on a brutal and cunning group of recently escaped replicants hiding in Los Angeles and the burnt out expert blade runner, Rick Deckard, who reluctantly agrees to take on one more assignment to hunt them down.

This area of northeast England was the inspiration for the cityscape at the beginning of the original Blade Runner film. Ridley Scott used to pass the vast swathe of industry here with its flare stacks, orange glow and myriad lights when travelling to and from Hartlepool art college.
Blade Runner is my all time favourite film.
I haven't seen Blade Runner 2049.

Medicom's Spinner is a great model/toy that presents very well with a bit of tidying up of the slightly sloppy production line finish.
While it's not entirely film accurate eg, the turret mounted lights are too small & the cockpit detail is virtually non-existent. Interior aside, it's an improvment over the original 1980's design by having a sleeker profile in this iteration, looking far more futeristic in the process.
I gave the Spinner a quick little touch-up & did a little work with a Gundam marker, then gave the canopy & body a good polish to remove some unsightly scratches. There's still more to do, but for now at least, I can look at it without cringing.

After having done several versions of the lego spinner in 'flight mode' I decided to make a 'street mode' version. The challenge for me here was getting an accurate, low-to-the-road profile that worked with the windshield and the wheels.
Huge Harrison Ford fan, I've seen every single one of his films 9 times over, really enjoyed the artistic style of this film so I decided to make Deckard from the first film. Not that old but I have definetly highered my standards since i made this fig.
