After debuting at Lego World Utrecht past week, here it is for all of you as well!
The entrance has been sitting on my desk over the past 2-3 years, but I finally turned it into the kind of castle I wanted to make.
It was fun playing around with the colours and balancing the pirates and cyberpunk elements into a good and balanced composition.
This one was really fun to work on and to see it come together, although I might have damaged my eyes again with all the neon yellow (And yes, most of it is not visible in the photo..)
anyway, it has been some time sinceI finished a build, but hopefully the next one will be here a bit quicker!

This is my kimono debut.
On 20 May 2000, a women's club in Yokohama (Japan) had a talent luncheon.
I am in the middle (with a couple friends) as one of the "Three Little Maidens" from the "Mikado". With a couple turns (twirls) and a flutter of our fans, we had a fun time with the pantomime of the song for "our part" in the day's entertainment.
Some friends have asked if I have ever worn a kimono. Even though I've lived in Japan for almost 20 years, I really haven't worn a kimono that many times.

Ajoutons un peu de spécial en ce début d'année.
Cette photo a été faite dans le cadre d'un de mes cours de photographie il y a plusieurs années de cela, avec présentation devant la classe. C'est la première d'une histoire en quatre parties.
Pour la petite histoire, le jour du shooting (qui à cause d'un retard des participants, celui-ci a du être fait sous un ciel sans nuage avec le soleil au plus haut, donc les pires conditions) c'est photo était prévue pour être la dernière de l'histoire. Après l'avoir développée et travaillée, elle est devenue soudainement la première de l'histoire suite à un épisode "Eurêka".
Prise avec mon vieux Nikon D5100, je la considère comme l'une des plus importante dans mon parcours de photographie.

La seule sortie photo de la semaine, avec beaucoup de vent donc une belle difficulté à faire des photos de ces papillons tout petits...
The first proper walk for the whippet. Past the tennis courts to the shops. She was amazing. However, 15-20 minutes of trotting next to us didn't wear her out.

Debut did you say? Yes, somehow this is the first time 46100 has traversed the Settle Carlisle in the preservation era. My question to the audience is; did it ever run over the Long Drag in BR or LMS times?
The Scot is seen passing Froddle Crook with the returning Fellsman of Wednesday 26th August 2020. Just round the corner, beyond the bridge in the distance was the location of the Eden Brows landslip which closed the line for over a year in 2016.
Dand le cadre des essais pour le Train Autonome (dit TA), l'AEF et sa BB 60000 louée à FRET s'en va sur de petites lignes non seulement pour être plus tranquille lors des essais avant de débuter la phase en zone dense mais aussi pour y tester la capacité de capter les véhicules aux PN non gardés, savoir repérer les potentiels obstacles aux abords des voies ...
Les deux véhicules chargés sur leur wagon plat servent quand à eux à retransmettre toutes les informations enregistrées par le train vers un centre de traitement et d'analyse en plus de la voiture laboratoire qui accompagne le train.
I waited for a long time hoping this manu o Kū would get up and reposition its egg so I could get a look. To my surprise, when it eventually did stand up it revealed a one- or two-day old hatchling. The adult preened the new arrival for few minutes until it once again disappeared into warmth and security under the adult. The manu-o-Kū, or white tern, is an arboreal nesting pelagic seabird that doesn’t actually fabricate a nest; instead, it uses a flat or hollow or fork in the tree to keep the single egg from rolling away. The hatchling uses its strong, clawed, semipalmate feet to cling to the tree branch that will be its home, in wind, rain, or shine, until fledging. It will be left alone after a week or two while both parents dip fish off-shore alternating their return to the nest with provisions of whole fish or squid.

Foire aux chameaux de Pushkar, état du Rajasthan, Inde.
Dans la lumière du matin, ce beau personnage à moustaches et turban orange est l'un parmi les quelques centaines de marchands qui se donnent rendez-vous chaque année en novembre dans la plaine de Pushkar pour une manifestation certes commerciale durant laquelle sont négociés des milliers de chameaux et d'autres animaux, mais aussi religieuse, dédiée au dieu hindouiste Brahma. A cette occasion, de nombreuses activités commerciales, religieuses et festives animent la ville durant douze jours
Le soleil se lève, le brouillard le fuit, l'environnement se pare de nuances et ses couleurs passent-elles ?

Je publie en avant-première cette photo prise lors de ma 4ème rando en Haute Tarentaise. Mais je ne sais pas si j'en publierai d'autres un jour (malgré quelques candidates que j'ai repérées ...).
France. Alpes. Savoie. Haute Tarentaise. Massif des Alpes Grées. Photo prise lors d'un aller-retour au Rocher de la Davie (3157m), au départ du parking du Saut. Après un début sur un sentier balcon, l'ascension offre tout du long un magnifique point de vue sur le Cirque de Tignes, devant les géants de la Vanoise que sont la Grande Motte et la Grande Casse. J'ai effectué cette rando hors sentier guidé par un grand randonneur, qui connaît la Haute Tarentaise comme sa poche. Un compagon de luxe qui m'a permis de dépasser la barre des 3000m pour la toute 1ère fois de ma vie ! Un GRAND MERCI à lui !!!
Photo prise peu après avoir quitté le sentier balcon et avoir commencé la raide montée hors sentier balisé. On peut y voir Tignes et son lac au creux d'un superbe cirque devant le toit de la Vanoise, à savoir la Grande Casse(3855m). On lui voit peu de neige mais son glacier principal est exactement à l'opposé, en face sud-ouest. Sur sa gauche, on voit la Grande Motte(3653m) et ses différents glaciers, qui sont tous situés en face nord.
NB : Comme c'était la canicule, nous avons pris notre temps et nous avons passé environ 7 heures au-delà de 2500m dont environ 2h30 au-delà de 3000m. Et comme je ne suis pas habitué à ces altitudes avec moins d'oxygène, j'ai accusé un gros coup de fatigue quand nous sommes redescendus sur le sentier balcon. 😂
After being unveiled, there was anticipation for when NS 4851, the (then) newest heritage unit honoring the Tennessee, Alabama & Georgia Railway, would lead it’s first train. For us in Tennessee & Georgia, we would be lucky with that first train being 29A. With that news & knowing I’d have a chance to get it before work that day, I made the bold decision to drive as far north as Winfield near the Kentucky state line to wait out it’s arrival. Here, we see it north of Winfield, TN and wasting no time either. They ended up running from Danville, KY to Tenbridge in Chattanooga, TN in just under 6 1/2 hours, reminding me that it was very much Christmas season on NS when it came to the intermodals. 12-13-24
Norfolk and Western Class J 4-8-4 number 611 has a short photo freight in tow on the grounds of the North Carolina Transportation Museum located in the former Southern Railway Spencer Shop complex. Here she is marching beneath a preserved and relocated former Southern Railway signal bridge.
Built by the Norfolk and Western in house at their East End Shops she was in the last of three batches of the class built totalling fourteen units. Entering revenue service on May 29, 1950 she had a short nine year revenue service career before being retired and donated to the city of Roanoke and placed on display in a park. In 1963 the Roanoke Transportation Museum was created around 611 as its centerpiece. The museum's original location was destroyed by a flood in 1985 and subsequently moved downtown and was renamed the Virginia Museum of Transportation. Restored by NS for their original steam program she would have her first excursion career spanning from September 1982 until December 1984 when she would be retired again for another two decade slumber.
In 2012 the city officially donated her to the museum and a year later the Fireup611! campaign began with a goal of raising $3.5 million for her second resoration. With NS contributing $1.5 million to the project she was moved here to NCTM only one year prior to this photo where her restoration began.
On May 9th less than a year after restoration began she made her first test run under her own power and on this day she finally performed in her first public appearance. Two days after I took this image she would triumphantly steam home to Roanoke over her old home rails unassisted with NS CEO Wick Moorman at the throttle as the culmination and conclusion of NS 21st Century Steam program. She led multiple mainline excursions the rest of 2015 and the next two years though in recent times she has been relegated to only operating on museum grounds here and on the Strasburg's 4 1/2 mile route that she has visited twice now for extended periods.

This day marked the first run of NJT 4101 in its heritage paint scheme on the Main Line to Suffern on train 1221.

Il était 7h lorsque je suis arrivé au Parc national de la Jacques-Cartier ce matin. Il faisait 1°C et la brume recouvrait les parties les plus basses de la vallée. Lorsque je me suis approché de la rivière, j'ai aperçu quelque-chose sur la rive. Au début je croyais que c'était un ours car ça me semblait assez gros mais finalement j'ai constaté que c'était un magnifique CASTOR.
La tour sud est beaucoup plus récente puisqu'elle date du début du XVIe siècle ; la première pierre est posée en 1485, le 10 novembre, par Robert de Croismare, les travaux étant commencés par Guillaume Pontif, maître d’œuvre. En 1496, Guillaume Pontif est remplacé par Jacques le Roux qui achève la tour en 1506. Elle est « couronnée », ce qui est caractéristique du style flamboyant, dite « de beurre », parce qu'elle a été financée avec les indulgences de carême, c'est-à-dire que des fidèles riches s'achetaient le droit de consommer du beurre et autres laitages pendant le carême tout comme à la cathédrale de Bourges où existe également une tour de beurre.
Une autre explication à cette dénomination est que cette tour est d'une teinte plus jaune (calcaire lutétien de Saint-Leu, dont la couleur pourrait faire penser que la tour a été sculptée dans une motte de beurre) que le reste de la maçonnerie en pierre blanche de Caumont et de Vernon. Elle n'est construite qu'à partir de 1485 et le chapitre de la cathédrale connut de houleux débats entre les « anciens » et les « modernes » pour décider qui des partisans d'une flèche ou d'une couronne l'emporterait. Finalement les seconds l'emportèrent. Sa construction qui coûta 24 750 livres tournois était destinée à équilibrer au sud le volume de la tour Saint-Romain. Elle se compose de quatre niveaux qui suivent un plan carré et d'un couronnement octogonal ponctué de pinacles.
L'immense cloche de la tour est fondue en 1501, elle prend le nom de son mécène, Georges d'Amboise.
La tour de Beurre a inspiré la construction d'un célèbre building de Chicago, la Tribune Tower, en 1923-1925.
La tour de Beurre contient 2 des sept cloches de la cathédrale.
The south tower is much more recent, dating from the beginning of the 16th century; the first stone was laid in 1485, on November 10, by Robert de Croismare, with work started by Guillaume Pontif, the master builder. In 1496, Guillaume Pontif was replaced by Jacques le Roux, who completed the tower in 1506. Finally, the latter won. Its construction, which cost 24,750 livres tournois, was intended to balance the volume of the Saint-Romain tower to the south. It is composed of four levels that follow a square plan and an octagonal crown punctuated by pinnacles.
The tower's immense bell was cast in 1501, it takes the name of its patron, Georges d'Amboise.
The Butter Tower inspired the construction of a famous Chicago building, the Tribune Tower, in 1923-1925.
The Butter Tower contains 2 of the cathedral's seven bells.
