The reason why there is some undesired polarization in the shot, was I had just arrived at the airport and hadn't even gotten out of the car yet, when this appeared in front of me. So I hastily shot it through the car windshield lol
Just a cursory look at my photostream will reveal that I have a particular love for DC. In fact, I was born there and, even though I was raised primarily in Maryland, I consider myself "from" DC.
I walked the streets of my city once again this past weekend. I have to say, it didn't feel the same. For some reason, I felt alienated from the town I love so much.
This is the first of a series of shots from Washington, DC.
On Saturday Nov 24, 1973 a United States Navy Douglas Super DC-3 airplane was forced to land on Sólheimasandur’s black sand beach in the south of Iceland after experiencing some severe icing.
Luckily all crew members survived the crash, but the airplane’s fuselage was abandoned.
This site is now pretty touristy with people climbing all over it, inside it, taking photos. It's about a 4km walk to the crash site - you can no longer drive to it. This is a 6 minute exposure causing the moving clouds to render themselves as streaks and it also makes people disappear!

I've never seen an explanation why Alitalia re-registered aircraft like this. Unlike the common practice of switching to foreign jurisdictions for security or tax purposes, keeping them on the Italian register with new series like I-R is a mystery. Maybe someone will read this who knows the answer.
Btw I’m not dead yet
Honestly didn’t even notice I hadn’t posted in a while any who I got a job about 3 weeks ago so expect me to post more, but I got a job so expect me to post less

What do ya guys think?
Might seem like an odd choice of subjects, but I love the symmetry, lights and patterns in the metro stations in DC. This is Virginia Square/GMU station, which is in Arlington, VA.
Not an easy subject without a tripod!
(The geek in me is always reminded a bit of the launch bays in Battlestar Galactica....)
On Explore/interestingness for December 11; highest position #28.
The Washington DC wasteland in Fallout 3... anxiously awaiting the new Fallout 4 for Christmas with better graphics, etc. which takes place in Boston.
“A heap of broken images, where the sun beats,
And the dead tree gives no shelter, the cricket no relief,
And the dry stone no sound of water. Only
There is shadow under this red rock,
(Come in under the shadow of this red rock),
And I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;
I will show you fear in a handful of dust.”
- T.S. Eliot, The Waste Land

Just a couple antihero types I made with newly acquired parts - you probably could have made all of these figures like five years ago with the parts I used but they're new to me.
Jonah Hex, Lex Luthor, and Deathstroke
Since I neither have a spare Jek-14 head nor a pair of Hyperion legs, I elected to simplify the figure that's actually going up on my collection shelf and use a spare SW head I had lying around to transform Ronnie into Jax. I personally prefer the Ghost-Rider hairpiece over the Syndrome one - I can assure you that it looks better in real life than it does in this photo.

Just a couple DC villains in some of their classic costumes with new parts.
Left to right:
Parasite (new arms and legs)
Lex Luthor (new legs)
Cyborg Superman (new to me leg)
Sinestro (new hair)
Catwoman (new torso/legs)
after seeing the movie....the Jared Leto has became my favorite joker and if you saw the movie....when the scene where joker wears this suit....he's really mad just keeps on laughing so that's why I gave him a crazy face :)
I was surprised I didn’t just use all my new parts on dc figs so yea I made some figs.
L-R: birthday boy( not too many of this dude on Flickr and I had the parts so yea I made him), anarchy( made a Molotov cocktail and wanted to try out the trench coat look), hush( he looks cool), black manta( since I have those blade things I thought it would be a nice upgrade), killer moth( using that protocol droid head which also works super well on firefly)
Back again! So I haven’t been posting as much DC stuff as I usually do so hopefully this fills that void since I’ll probably move back towards other stuff like SW and also other themes soon but I’ve been working on some DC heroes and I’m waiting for the Endgame sets to make a MCU barf which should be fun!
Anyways...
From left to right
Birthday Boy: inspired by Futuristic Legos and first time making him!
Mad Hatter: inspired by TheMooseFigs
Scarecrow: pretty basic gave him a belt, Lucy’s scarf piece and a hat!
Deadshot: bricktober War machine arms BrickArms gun Lucy legs
Deathstroke: Reinhardt’s face, Hanzo body and legs, Marge skirt around his neck
Mr. Freeze: Just gave him Ghosts face and I really like the gun!
Victor Zsasz: my first time making him and I love how he turned out
Up top...
Katana: Hanzo hair, BrickArms sword she looks pretty decked out lol
Penguin: this looks a lot from somebody else’s version of him I thought no I forget who tho!
Catman: Chris Pratt face and I gave him a black belt
New parts? Those go straight into new DC figs in this house.
Left to right:
Professor Pyg: the newest and most terrifying version yet.
Steel: heck yeah silver parts.
The Question: Captain Redbeard on IG made a version of this guy based on mine; I came back with a new hat and took the torso he used. bam.
Btw Expect me to post somewhat frequently for a bit as I’m planning on revamping 75-80% of my figs, but also not so much as I’ll be waiting for orders to come in
Now the figures
Nightwing- tried out the 2016 head on the 2006 torso, gotta say I’m pretty satisfied with it
Bronze tiger- possibly my favorite of the bunch, can’t believe I hadn’t had a bt fig til now
Red arrow- simply swapped out his head but it’s a pretty big improvement from the Lone Ranger head
Azreal- changed him back to jpv really like how he turned out
Black lighting- went for a more comic look as I had his tv show look since the trailer dropped
Sorry for the big leave of absence I hadn’t realized I hadn’t posted in over 2 months. Honestly had lost quite a bit of interest until recently
So.... I have nothing to say about these.
L to R:
Wonder Woman: Gave her the Robin legs.
Catwoman: Just another combo.
Black Adam: Just a combo I came up with but he won't stay together.
Spoiler: Another combo as well.
Cheetah: Testing torsos.
Hey y'all, I'm back! As fun as Canada was, I'm glad to be back home building and making customs. To get back in the swing of things, I thought I'd start off with a DC customs gallery using some new TLM2 pieces plus some parts I got at the Lego store from BaM! Hope you enjoy ;)
Bottom Row:
Kabuki Twin: My ultimate Kabuki Twin. Gave her Kabuki Nya's torso and fan
Cyborg: Probably my second favorite of the bunch, I think he looks pretty dope :) Anywho I gave him some Ninjago armor and the Tin Man's arms and legs. Credit to the arm blaster-thing goes to Æ5
Scarecrow: My first favorite of all these! It's just a Jawa torso, the TLBM Scarecrow head and legs, Catman's belt cos I love using that piece, and that syringe hand technique everyone uses. Oh plus credit to Snowy Bricks to the use of Lucy's hood, it's a really great idea :D
Egghead: I modified the official by giving him Captain Hook's head, Alfred's necktie piece, the CMF fencer legs and a white wand for a cane.
Top Row:
Poison Ivy: I gave the TBM Poison Ivy Hula Lula's skirt cos I didn't really like the official one
Knightmare Batman: He has a custom gun and Lucy's scarf/wrap, credit to rrp517 for the idea for that piece.
Wonder Woman: I gave her Golden Lasso I got from Build-a-Minifigure. She also has Black Canary's legs cos I'm using her actual legs for something else.
Arkham Joker: Credit to rrp517 for using the CMF balloon clown coattails
Please leave your thoughts on these in the comments :) Sorry if this was a bit rambley, I just had a lot to say :P
The lensbaby did a great job with this abstract view of the overhead lights in AC/DC lane. The bokeh and central focus give it a wonderful effect, imho. Lensbaby sweet 50 Composer Pro.
My 175th installment in my LEGO DC Minifigure Series
Kid Flash: Finally got around to getting another Reverse Flash torso which immediately went to Wally
Cheshire: Sold off my first one since I wasn't 100% pleased. Managed to make another version that I am quite fond of
Merlyn: Mixed CW and Comic to come up with this combo
Jade: I planned on giving her the Cat Lady legs but I had to keep the lantern leg trend.
Tin: Pretty much just turned Tin Man CMF into a short figure and changed the headgear
