Echoing the bird's colors of dark green, yellow, purple, blue and pink, I used Pink Sapphires, Peridot and Emerald Rondelles with teeny tiny 1.5mm Seed Pearls as well as 925 Sterling Silver Beads to form the wing. Lie it flat and you'll note that it's puffed up, 3D, like a real bird's wing. There are even 2 rows of Peridot and Pink Sapphires on the top of the head area to serve as the crest.
Underneath the elaborate wing was some abstract crochet whirls, more Peridot, Pink Sapphires, Pearls amd 925 Sterling Silver Beads dance gaily along Birdie's body with a majorly contrasting 24K Gold Fluted Bead for an eye. He's got to be able to see to ogle his new owner, yes?
The piece de resistance?
An exquisite flutterby atop the wing fashioned from FLAWLESS Polished Kyanite Teardrops, Smooth Emerald Teardrops and the most petite Aquamarine Briolettes ever.
Sapphire Nuggets link Birdie Likes Spring as more Rondelles flutter over and around Vintage Blue Enamel Chains. Peer closer and you'll see that the left cluster has Pink Sapphires and Emeralds whilst the right has Peridots and more Pink Sapphires.
I like.

Yeah, it's just sometimes so good to sit back and chill. And still you know you have a hell lot of work to do, but time for yourself has a great value.
Olanning to go and watch "The Rite" tonight in the cinema.
And by the way, "The Last Exorcism" sucked big time.
(Yay, only 300 more days to go!)
Trying to portray your inner most feelings in body contortion is hard. Especially when you aren't really that flexible or in the mood.
So, heres my awkward stance.
Its been a really awkward month.
I've gone from feeling ugly, and fat, to pretty and thin, to just...entirely awkward.
Everything feels Odd.
I almost feel like I can't place where I am.
I'm just...waiting for my changes to start happening.

300 days left.
It was just one of those day! I had a great idea to get part 2 of my nephew Rylan doing a crazy stunt in mid air on his new quad. I had set up 3 lights and gotten everything ready only for the star of the show to get crabby. He nearly refused to do a super man. It wasn't easy getting him on the bike and once up there he would complain. Ah, the joys of working with 2 year olds! I managed to snap a few shots but was not confident that I had got a winner. I can work in a rushed manner but this was too rushed. I had all of 2 seconds to get my position, focus and snap the shot. Knowing the chances of having a decent shot were slim, I packed everything in my car as I knew I had a 2nd chance to redeem myself at tonights dinner party.
In other news... Shawn had went out and bought a new battery for Rylan's quad and instead of getting a OEM replacement he decides to get a Motorcycle battery! A modification that would leave plastic burn marks in the cement and give the rider whip lash. A+ Shawn! Rylan loves the new speed. anyways, back to the topic at hand.
I arrived at Kelly and Sara's shortly after 9pm. She had invited me over for a dinner party so naturally I stopped for a six pack of Guinness (wow i sound like I have a problem. do a search for the word beer or Guinness in my blogs! see how many times it comes up! well, you can't search yet! but you will be able to soon). The party had yet to get started. I cracked open a guinness and what do you know... no plastic torpedo in the bottle. (Day 65 explains this in detail...204studiosphoto.com/365blogs/day65) suffice to say... I was disappointed in Guinness! People started showing up and thats when I noticed the perfect couple for tonights shot. I was yet to be introduced but I knew right then that they were to be Day 68! More on my blog in the AM. I'm tired and need some sleep!

Perfect sunny morning, feeling a little eager to get the shorts out to wear! It's nice to know spring is around the corner, bit nippy wearing them home this evening :)
day65_comingofspring
Each week, members of The Wire Artisans Guild come together to pick and work upon a theme, and this week's was Spring. Sounds easy enough, doesn't it? But as you probably know by now, I've never been one for simplicity :D
I'm pretty sure, for the majority of us, when we say Spring, we think flowers, birds, bugs and loads of green so I figured I'd make a bird. Not just any bird, mind you, but a fancy schmancy bird (but of course!).
So I present, before all and sunder, my fine feathered friend called Birdie Likes Spring.
Inspired by the almost extinct Genus Pionus Tumultuosus of South America (also known as the Plum Crowned Parrot), this cutie pie took quite awhile to complete as it's 100% made by hand - sans the use of glue or solder, as is the Eclettica trademark.
If you can't fight it, might as well embrace it. So, I did.
Woke up early in the morning despite being Sunday.. so went out to find something interesting... didn't quite have anything particular in mind, luckily I didn't have to drive too much before I spotted this little corner.
Me Again Monday: If I could be an animal, I would be a…..bird. I would no longer be anchored to the ground. I would be able to soar, to dance in the skies, to be free of gravitational restrictions. I would flap my wings, glide through the skies, I would gently land and pose oh so elegantly for my photographer friends, hehe.

I had a terrible time deciding which photo to use for today's blue. I finally "accidentally" came up with this crop. The original of this plus another alternate are in the comments.

Project 365 (2009) - Day 65
This is a view from the 2nd floor my office, Dundas House, looking down into our canteen area. You can just about make out from this photo the glass and very open lift shafts that run up through the middle of the space, with bridges on each floor connecting the various parts of the building.
My compact camera doesn't do very wide angles which is a pity because this entire building is úber stylish and this shot doesn't really do it justice.
There is some sort of "Las Vegas Casino" themed event on tonight hence the lack of tables and chairs the sudden appearance of giant connect 4, table football and a giant snooker table (which you can't see in this photo) where you play using golf putters!
The kind of shaky results you get from taking a handheld shot at 1/3s. But I liked the way the trees came out
Home made bread, low sugar-low salt peanut butter, home grown yellow tomatoes, salt and pepper.
Named after a New Zealand radio host (Mark Sainsbury) who has this for breakfast (but with bought Vogels bread and probably red toms).
The light starts slowly on the tips of your fingers and works right down to your soul, pausing at the wrists and the elbows, slipping between the creases and stifling the shadows that have clouded your heart for so many moons. It smoothes over the edges and begins to make life bearable again. For weeks, you've been choking on the universe, and then it hits you and it creeps in the corners of your eyes and out through your mouth as you exhale every dark thing that has ever touched you and you smile because you're finally breathing.

Flowers: I can never take enough of flower photos I guess - they are bright, colorful and have vivid details. Can't believe my flower album has that many photos
