If I told you I like coffee I would be lying. The truth is that I LOVE coffee. I drink a ton of it, and I pretty much drink it from the moment I wake up until right before I go to bed. I really don't know how I ever got this bad. I think I genuinely enjoy the taste, and appreciate that it doesn't necessarily have the teeth-rotting tendencies that soda (pop) has. Granted, my teeth are the color of baked beans, but it's a small price to pay. Okay, they aren't actually that color, but I'm sure they will be if I keep this up.
A while back, my doctor has recommended that I cut down a little, or switch to decaf... I told him he was a looney-tooney, then I ran down the hall screaming profanities and making sure everybody knew he's guilty of "coffee discrimination". He says coffee makes me irritable and edgy... I think he's a little twit that needs to go "DUNK HIS DANISH"! IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN!!!
Anyway... yeah... whew... where was I. So yeah, I dig coffee, and I wanted to make sure my 365 made note of that. I went a bit simple on this shot, but, well... if you don't like it, YOU CAN GO DUNK YOUR... just kidding, just kidding.
Time for bed... day 49 approacheth...

It was a sunny day and I couldn't take advantage of it. Later I kept wondering what to shoot and then saw the kids playing with the blocks and chose to go with this shot..
Shot with Nikon D90 using Nikkor 60mm macro lens. No editing except for copyright footer text.
Sunday was not a good day as I ended up back at the hospital with an infection in my wound...now have antibiotics to add to the collection of tablets so all I managed was a quick snap with the new pill perched on top.
Feeling brighter today and the sun is out, maybe I will venture out into the garden for some fresh air.
Thanks for views, comments and faves all are always appreciated :)
We tried to take a family photo. But it didn't quite work out. The smaller kids refused to stay put - they just wanted to play with their new toys! LOL!! Plus my flash was running out of batteries, refusing to fire, so a lot of the shots I took are extremely dark!
Every year, we spend Christmas with my inlaws. It's so much fun having all the kids around!
But Christmas is also when I miss my family the most, who all live in the US. It doesn't seem fair that we live so far apart from eachother, but I hope He has a plan in store for us to see eachother again very soon. I miss you and love you all so very, very much!
Today's inspiration comes from two sources. I was scanning some T.V. shows on Netflix when noticed this show named Luther. It's really popular in Britain and stars Idris Elba. I heard about it a while ago so I started watching it today and I think I might be hooked. I loved the opening sequence, the music, and the visuals. That was the first part of my inspiration. The next part was the desire to blend two images in Photoshop. I'm still learning photoshop so this was the closest I could get to what I envisioned. The end resulted in todays post Day48/365 #project365 - Owed to Luther
HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON IS AWESOME!
Have I already told you that? Well who cares. This is me on the roof. Again. Sorry for the wannabe film photos lately, but for some reason I'm obsessed with film right now (real film pictures coming soon.)
48/365 (sorries, one day late again)
Positive Work for the day:
Give handmade birthday cards.
I had the day off today, so I made a bus trip to see my favorite lift bridge in Stillwater.

So I went in for a strep test because my throat hurts more than my gut. WTF?! Still waiting for the lab results because they're slow, but they said there was a blister on my uvula (that's the dangly thing in the back of your mouth) so they think that they just mangled my throat when they intubated me. So they gave me this gel which is so thick that I can't hit the back of my throat. So my whole mouth is numb, except for the part that I want. Lovely. I'll be so glad when I'm all healed up.
Feb 17 : Day 48
I've been watching the Curling throughout these Olympics.
Eurosport 5 is dedicated to curling so it's been wall-to-wall coverage.
i was tagged by www.flickr.com/photos/baleland/, so here are 10 things about me:
1. i have a metal clip in my heart holding my pda valve closed; when i was born, i only weighed two pounds (3 months premature!), and the valve never closed, so i was sent into heart surgery at only a week old.
2. i kind of miss being a blonde.
3. those are the beads that we put on our christmas tree every year.
4. i'm really super self-conscious about eating in front of people.
5. i never expected my first relationship to last as long as it did.
6. i have no idea what to do for my portfolio to get into SCAD. i'm procrastinating SO much, and i'm really really afraid that i won't get in.
7. i fear that my family hates me because i never seem to do anything right in their eyes. :|
8. i dive so fiercely into my virtual life because i don't have very many friends outside of the internet.
9. i hate the holidays. call me scrooge, but i'm always just really stressed out & aslkfjlsfj all the time.
10. i'm sensitive. i have emotions. i'm in touch with said emotions, and sometimes let them rule my life. bad? yes, i'm aware.
i tag: anyone who would like to do this.

"ice queen"
that's not actually ice. it's a texture i found on google. i hate this. i hate today. my start to break sucks. /end complain-string.
& please read this: anniferrr.tumblr.com/post/297630830/i-feel-like-im-not-go...
I am not kidding when I say that my stomach is always hungry and it wants to be fed - so I thought what better way to portray it? Now time to eat second breakfast - kind of like a hobbit! I have a fear of being fat one day, because of my lack of self control...seriously!
Glad that I did not go with the "dick in a box" idea, because well that song has been stuck in my head for a day now. Its crazy how much my brain wants me to listen to that song!
Today I was taken to a scrap yard and for a walk along the river. I was only allowed five minutes at the scrap yard as it was an unplanned stop and my friend had, the previous week, patiently waited around while I went berserk on the Ryde Queen, so fair play.
Sorry about the glum face - I was cold, my hat was slipping and I was trying to get a quick snap before we left, and I forgot to smile. I feel a little self conscious doing my 365 shots in public.
I had to wear a hard hat and reflective jacket, which really went well with my purple coat! Which reminded me of one of my favourite poems:
Warning
When I am an old woman, I shall wear purple
with a red hat that doesn't go, and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
and satin candles, and say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I am tired
and gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
and run my stick along the public railings
and make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
and pick the flowers in other people's gardens
and learn to spit.
You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
and eat three pounds of sausages at a go
or only bread and pickles for a week
and hoard pens and pencils and beer nuts and things in boxes.
But now we must have clothes that keep us dry
and pay our rent and not swear in the street
and set a good example for the children.
We must have friends to dinner and read the papers.
But maybe I ought to practice a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.

I've finally worked out why I fail 365 year after year. I get passionate but then lose steam very quickly when I take a few bad shots and then it becomes a chore rather than an enjoyment and I get stressed about quality of stream etc.
So I've come up with a bit of an idea. I'm going to create collages for the days that I wasn't feeling very inspired of days when the shots just weren't up to scratch.
It also helps with the time limit thing. In the last month or so I've been away on work business, commenced a full time course and been keeping a big secret... as well as trying to work full time, have some sort of social life and continue to learn photography! It's a lot!
So from now on, I'm not going to beat myself up if things don't go how I want them to. The goal is 365. So far I'm still in the game. These were the 'worst' of my stacked up shots dating back to early February. I'll catch up the rest tomorrow and be back up to date.
Another thing I've worked out is that my 'passion' for photography is episodic in nature. So it's okay if some of my shots are quite literally 23:55 PM shots from my phone. It's my project!
I won't have time to catch up on all the awesome shots that I've missed over the last month but hope to start putting a few hours in here and there again over the next few months and re-establishing friendships and ohhing and ahhing at the quality in my friends list :-)
Phew... thanks for reading. How are you? :-)
Part of 100 details in 100 days series running on my blog in which each day I post a detail of my crazy quilting and talk about how it was done.
Ever since she joined Facebook (about two weeks ago), this is what she looks like (breaks for homework, school, attending Bat Mitzvah's, and sleeping).
My mom, me, and my daughter are all on there together. It's hilarious.
P.S. If you want to know my feelings about the TOS uproar it is this:
The terms made me uncomfortable before they changed them. I am not too upset about it because I feel that their wording is simply a reflection of our extremely litigious world, and that they are covering their asses. I did remove my more artistic photos and photos of my daughter (even though this means nothing, according to these new TOS), but mostly because I think they are handling things poorly and the wording is the worst and most obnoxious I've ever seen. No need to panic, however.
I don't think anyone's content is really at risk, any more than it is at risk by being on the Internet in the first place, but it does bring up good issues to discuss and I know that there are people out there working on actual free social networking sites.
Until then, I get far too many benefits and have too much fun with FB to quit. Plus I'm tired of always jumping off the bridge with everyone else without letting things sit for a while. :-)

Eep! This was fuuun! I kind of got my clothes all wet, and got water EVERYWHERE. but it was totally worth seeing my really weird faces. The one in the middle is my favorite, it was a fail squirt, but it makes me laugh.

there's nothing special about the fact that i'm changing eric's diaper, but i couldn't remember ever providing photographic evidence to dispute any lingering suspicions that i might be trying to shirk diaper changing duties :-)
When I drove down from this shoot, it was pouring down, and my car slipped and I almost had a front-on-front car accident.. I was so nervous! Drove to the side, called Tommy, and waited to calm down.
Then I drove down. Sloooowly. Every single car passed me. But I'm alive, and I'm glad i didn't smash the car in a million pieces - again... :)
day forty eight!
just messing around with gimp! it was supposed to look like it's from a video, but flickr sharpening kind of messed that up. so you should view large.
(that's my dad's old pilot helmet from back when he was in the navy, by the way.)
(4.8.12) It's Easter! I was lucky to get to spend yesterday a little bit of today with my fiance. We went to mass this morning and then breakfast with the family at Steak n' Shake.
it's a bit more tricky to change his diaper these days, since it is seemingly impossible to not get the velcro on the diaper stuck on the shirt before you get all the cords and lines out of the way.
as i change his diaper, it strikes me as odd to think that some day we'll actually change his diaper and not have to worry about pulling out IV or feeding lines or detaching sensors.
10 December 2007
So I noticed I haven't done a themed week yet so I started thinking of my favorite things... then I started thinking of my favorite things that could actually make a good theme week :)
The movie Amélie is my absolute favorite movie of all time. From a story stand point as well as a designer stand point... it's just superb. If you haven't seen it, you must. Everything in the movie is either Red, Green or Yellow with the exception of an occasional Blue acent. This alone will be a challenge, but there are so many cute scenes in the movie it will be fun!
This is my tribute to the movie Amélie .
Theme week: Amélie - Day one.
Today I chose to highlight the garden gnome. Amélie steals her dad's garden gnome and sends him with her friend, who is a fight attendant, around the world. The friend takes polaroids of the gnome with major landmarks and sends them to Amélie's dad in hopes of getting him to travel himself.
I know I'm not a landmark... but I had to make due with what I had :)
