I did not stage this shot - and had one chance at it yesterday! Today (2-7-22) is Day 42 for our "lost" Yellow-throated warbler who has become like a family pet. As I've been posting - he should not be this far north for the Winter. And he shouldn't be so friendly. our North Georgia yard
This negative was forgotten on the floor of my car for months, dirty, then left in the sun on a window sill after that.
After my terrible abuse it gave me this soft, papery, fragile image.
Today I am off work, as I have moved my non-working day, and it has been all I ever imagined. I sat on the sofa in front of the window listening to music in the sun, then we had a pot of coffee with Nutella cupcakes, later I pruned a bush in the front garden and got too hot, and then in the afternoon we walked to the park and I got a free Caffe Nero. In essence, today has been what life should be - enjoyable.
Anyway, morning walk involved there being snow overnight and therefore the default photo of Stowe Pool which is an exercise in laziness but one which makes sense as it’s so easy.

I don't know what kind of seed pods these are, but I love the shapes of them. I had never seen them before today. Not the best day for macro photography; it was very windy!
Maisie
She is so beautiful and grown up! I can't believe how much a cat can grow in 1 month! She was a fluffy, cute kitten not so long time ago.... But she's so prominent and soft, and full of grace (in her craziness, totally my family!) More of Maisie at her lovely owner's profile: Jo
Day full of news. Mostly good, like my new camera arriving at 8am on my doorstep and making my day no matter what other news are! by the way - iso 12800! duh! :) So the day spent learning auto focus on the new, VERY advanced thing.... Crazy - how complicated AF can be?! am I that stupid..? So 46 pages of Canon manual on AF later....
This photo was taken when I was still learning, on the fastest cat in the world, but - hey! now just ask me a question on AF!
I'm really sorry that I just want to take hydrangea photos, did not mean to disturb your nap.

Setagaya Ward, Tokyo, Japan
Today is just so grey and miserable looking that I was determined my photo would be a colourful one.
Photographing the rain water trickling out of the pipe from the gutter of my neighbours roof wasn't quite what I had in mind but it filled the criteria, so job done.
I've guests coming for dinner later, so if you need me you'll find me in the kitchen.

I started my walk from work a bit later today. This was the view as I left. The landscaping is quite pretty around the building.
"Everybody knows it sucks to grow up.
And everybody does;
It's so weird to be back here.
Let me tell you what:
The years go on and we're still fighting it,
We're still fighting it..."
-Still Fighting It, Ben Folds
Just rediscovered this song and found the sheet music online. SWEEEEET.
Day 41.
Everywhere there are steps! My poor legs are feeling it now but I know it's exercise I have needed for a long time - and the views are usually worth the effort.
I'm missing you all and want to catch up on all the chats. Hope everyone is well.
This afternoon I'm going to go back to that cut-throat barber and see if I can get some better photos - I was disappointed with what I got on the D40. There's also a tailor in the same street with old fashioned sewing machines...
ODC Day 41 - Daily Challenge - In the Car
After being cooped up by the heavy snowfall for 24 hours I took Mr Potato Head out for a drive and a little car surfing.
