I had a drive out to the North Yorkshire moors today for a walk and a few photos. I ended up at the Hole of Horcum near Pickering to catch the beginnings of a stunning sunset. This is a HDR of 3 RAW exposures toned in Photomatix. I'm not totally up to speed with this software but I like the results.
HDR so please ignore the EXIF

With students of our school I was in Venice today, visiting the world famous carnival. And we enjoyed springlike temperatures! When we arrived back home late in the evening we were in the real world again: Cold winter temperatures and loads of snow!

„Verstummt sind in Venedig Tassos Lieder;
Still rudert, ohne Sang, der Gondolier;
Paläste bröckeln auf das Ufer nieder,
Und selten tönt Musik durch das Revier,
Die Zeit ist hin, doch weilt noch
Schönheit hier.“ (Lord Byron)
This is a shot I wanted to try after seeing a similar one in the 365 group that I really liked a lot. This week's theme is low key. Hope this qualifies.

There are a lots of these stone stairs in Bergen, they look quite nice, but are really a trap. They can be very slippery when it rain (which is almost everyday here in Bergen) and sometimes they just fall apart. So if you ever visit Bergen be aware of your steps when you walk around:)
Some old communications technology, no longer required now we've all got supercomputers in our pockets...
Project 365(2009) - Day 40
A barber shop on North Junction Street, Leith, Edinburgh. I pass this every day in the car but today is the first time I've stopped at the lights in a place where I could get a clear shot. The name of the place has just always appealed to me.
For my foreign visitors, I'll do a tiny bit of explaining with apologies if you already know this or these things also apply in your country! In Scotland (and the UK in general), 'nut' is a term used for "head". As in "I banged my nut" meaning "I banged my head". "Nut hoose" is also a colloquial term referring to a mental institution. ("Hoose" being "house").

My first COVID-19 Moderna Shot yesterday afternoon at TMC in Tucson, Arizona. 😷🙏👍
I've had this registration for about a month. This was a happy day...;-)
Last week, I was in the car when my Aide Heather received her second shot at TMC so I knew what to expect. I recognized lots of the volunteers along the multi-step car maze from last week.
I was impressed once again that the whole thing was extremely well thought out, planned, staffed, organized, and executed.
This photo is a candid shot by Heather. I didn't realize I was on Candid Camera with Allen Funt. I miss that show.

Day 40

My Grandfather's pocket watch.
My Grandparents have 10 children (not to mention the 30 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren). My point is out of their 10 children - 6 of which are boys, when he passed I somehow ended up with his pocket watch. Not my Grandmother, not either of their children, or their eldest granddaughter that they raised....but me! I'm so happy that I have something of his to remember him by. Of course I have my memories of him too, just nice to have something to hold!

An almost picture perfect morning and an almost picture perfect sunset (in the comments).
I was hoping for more traffic in the morning shot to get more trails, but hey, you have to work with what you have..
I thought about removing the flare in the sunset shot, but I think it looked cool so left it there.. and got lucky with the birds getting in the frame at the last second.. didn't see them coming in at all..
Thanks for your visit and comments.. hope I redeemed myself from yesterday's boring shots... :-)
Good Night all.
Today was one of those days when the early morning "safety shot" paid dividends. I snapped this while waiting for my car's engine to warm up before heading off to work. I didn't get a chance to touch the camera since.
There's always tomorrow!
Processing note 1: Handheld, pretty much SOOC save for the crop and a little straightening.
Processing note 2: My hands aren't that steady. The steering column was quite helpful.

I know this has been done a fair few times before, but I wanted to try it myself. I didn't have much time today, so one day I'm going to redo it and hopefully get some more shots.
