This picture it's a self portrait and it was inspired by this: "The Japanese say you have three faces. The first face, you show to the world. The second face, you show to your close friends, and your family. The third face, you never show anyone. It is the truest reflection of who you are."
The main light was the Westcott Rapid Box Octa with a Nikon SB910 at 1/16 power, the fill light below was the Westcott Rapid Box Strip with a Nikon SB700 at 1/32 power, the rim or side light was the Westcott Medium Apollo with a Voking VK430 at 1/32 power and the background light was a bare SB700 at 1/8 power. All flashes are in slave mode. The little piece of paper on the camera flash is to avoid getting that little pin light in the iris of the eye. I know the make a fancy little gadget for that but a piece of paper works just fine. The camera is the Nikon D610 with Nikkor 85mm f/1.8 @ f/5 1/200 ISO 100.
I’m going to be honest here…I’m not so sure about this 365 Selfie Project. I’m feeling like a bit of a narcissist and I’m truly not in love with my own reflection. LOL!! I’m thinking a landscape shot, a flower shot, some urbex stuff or just a photograph of someone other than me might be in my near future.

This weeks theme was lines/ stripes. There are tones of awesome shots out there with such cool lines so I wanted to think outside of the box for this one. In my head I had this idea of taking several shots of me and photoshopping them into stripes. With the help of @coreyweekley and his photoshop skills this was the final result. A few dividing lines of who I am.
In January I decided it was really time to get done what I wanted to do...No more procrastinating. No more excuses, no more I' don't understand this...
So I buckled down, perservered and signed up for Beyond Layers, a 52 week course that has helped me to learn all kinds of new things.
And I'm blogging...I really had a learning curve here but once again I trudged along and today my new blog goes publc..
Stop over and see what took me 3 months to create.
My dreams are are no longer deferred..day by day, step by step, they are coming true.

It's actually been making a regular appearance this week and seems to be mysteriously waking up the earth up a little.

So I said to myself today, "Self, why are we getting dressed today when we are only going to clean the house and put up Christmas decorations?" And Self answered, "Because we are NOT getting behind on the 30 for 30 challenge! We want to go shopping again!!" Self gave in and got dressed. Two-thirds of the way through! Yea!
#day20 #20of365 #2021th27 #energy
This was my 'second choice' for yesterday's shot, not far from home. In view of the wet weather today, I returned to the spot today for my short walk outside.
It looks like Medway Council are adopting some low energy street lighting.
A third Teeling expression was hiding behind door 20 of the Whisky Advent calendar. This time, it's their Small Batch, a blend of malt and grain whiskeys finished in ex-rum. 46%ABV.
Pale gold color; I get pears in syrup on the nose; the palate is very sweet, with green apple, pear, and vanilla; the finish sticks around a bit, starting with some ginger notes and fading into more of that honeyed sweetness. Nice enough nightcap, but leans way too hard into sweet for my tastes.
Just a quickie shot tonight; doing some recipe planning so I used my kitchen notebook/recipe workbook, a.k.a. The Omnomnomicon, as a backdrop tonight.
Here I am in Taos Pueblo, nestled in the crook
Of the Sacred Mountain’s mothering shoulder,
mesas turn into rocks piled upon rocks,
pather pati, and merge with the
red-brown sandstone sculpted
by the wind into Arches, sifting, shifting sands
in one grand sweep from Dead Horse to the Deccani plateau
Jahilia, Mongolia, all holy sands from Mecca and Medina
To Chimayo.

I got wrapped up in Creative Live and forgot to post this yesterday, oops! I think this is my favourite page that I did for my Featured scrapper assignment. I love the story and my proud boys oh and can I say I just love that top right hand edge ;)
#make30photos Day20: Break the rule of thirds.
With flowers and also very often with wildlife you can't always hold on to the rule of thirds, you just shoot what and how you can. There had been a sudden shower and the sun fell on this flower decorated with raindrops, but the sun could disappear behind the roof any moment so I had no time to try this from all angles (the best angle was the one where I would stand in the sun's path). It's another yellow unknown flower, which has appeared in one of my plant pots. At least it does look too intricate to be one of the many common yellow wildflowers there are and with the raindrops after a sudden huge shower it looks quite special.
I haven't done a completely digital layout in ages - I was a little rusty! I couldn't find a good link to this lift - it was one from the slide show accompanying Lain's interview with Liz. I looked in my digital stash and found a few elements from Paislee Press - the hearts, clipping mask and "hope" are all from Liz. The kraft/ledger is from Katie Pertiet. TFL!
