Gooseberry Sawfly - Nematus ribesii - Another insect pest that I just discovered in my garden. It is sitting on the end of a stem where the leaf has been eaten clean to the stem. Those round bokeh shapes are gooseberries. The larvae eat away the leaves of gooseberry bushes and also those of red and white currant bushes. They must have a fantastic camouflage because I never SAW them!
I'm certainly sure that I'd still love you.

Day 174 - 365/2023 - A Never-Ending Journey
When watering the garden this morning I noticed the way the grape leaves captured the mist. I still had my macro extension tube on from yesterday so I took the opportunity to take a quick shot. I cropped it so it would fill the frame.

A very long (but fun) day yesterday at my friend James' wedding. Took this shot just after arriving home, on my way to bed... because I realised I'd been so busy photographing the wedding I hadn't really taken a shot of myself...
Today I just need to sort through the 370 photos I took yesterday. :-)
...'cause I'm going to strawberry fields

# 50 in my 100 x challenge - using my 50mm
I picked these strawberries from our garden today, it's the best crop we have ever had. Normally the birds get to them before we do but I guess since there are so many this year the birds are happy to share them with us!

For 365 days, threesixtyfive, GTWL's theme of "If I Were Stranded on a Desert Island", FGR and the group Blartsy. Woo-hoo! Talk about multi-tasking :))
My hubby is definitely one of the most important things I'd have to take with me on a desert island.
Sorry Cookie (my Savannah cat)...I have to choose him over you ;)

I forgot I have this Nancy Drew-themed writing journal. Discovered while tidying up my messy desk.
Dark, moonless night tonight, which was perfect for some night photos. Turned out better than I expected.
Birdee Pruitt: Childhood is what you spend the rest of your life trying to overcome. That's what momma always says. She says that beginnings are scary, endings are usually sad, but it's the middle that counts the most. Try to remember that when you find yourself at a new beginning. Just give hope a chance to float up. And it will...

Our family road trip continues - today we arrived in Canberra. The girls dropped me at this spot for a run while they hit the shops. Win win. This is the view while I was waiting for my GPS watch to get a signal. I love running around this lake - so much to look at to distract yourself.
That flag pole between the two bridges is Parliament House while that's the National Library on the left.
