It was so hot again today, that shooting outside was out of the question.. unless I went out after 9 pm, which I knew wasn't going to happen... so headed to a local automotive heritage museum, which had a collection of some cool antiques that I had never seen before... the only problem was the space.. it was so small and the cars were placed so close to each other that isolating them was a big problem.. and then there was the harsh light coming from the windows when I was able to get a decent compositions. I wanted to get some cool emblem shots too, but again the harsh light and the reflections just weren't helping the cause.

But, did manage to get a few decent ones.

I know I've really fallen behind (again) on your streams and I will try to catch up as much as possible..

Thanks.

I was in such a mood this evening that I thought I'd let off some steam!

Dad, this is a special card for your birthday. I hope it's not TOO difficult - if it is, give me a call and I'll give you some hints. (I'll disclose the answer in a couple of days) You are the greatest Dad in the universe and I love you! I had a wonderful time seeing you this weekend and I hope you had fun too. Lukasz, you are the best! :-X

Feeling exceptionally raw right now. Hurting.

I forgot to put here yesterday that this shot...the way it was photographed and especially the processing...were inspired by Meredith and her gorgeous work.

Day 158: I wish I could claim this bonanza of colors as my own handiwork, but gardening is not a strong suit of mine. Luckily for me, one of my neighbors has a green thumb.

Few people get weak eyes from looking on the bright side

I wanted to do something simple tonight. I wasn't in the mood to deal with the studio/garage and Mer wasn't in the mood to deal with a bunch of makeup…

My workmate, Ruchika, has bought the Hugh Fearnley Wearnley family cook book, and then some scales and measuring jugs and then made this tasty banana bread. She brought a piece to work for me which was a nice suprise. Very tasty it was too, I manged to save a tiny bit for Pam who declared it most moist and bananery.. I hope this is a sign of things to come :-)

Boys will be boys. In our couch fort I am slowly teaching Greyson how to be mischievous from the beginning. What goes on in the couch fort stays in the couch fort.

Oh, and this rocks on Black

Wally accompanying his best bud Coco as she returns home to her mom today. Over two months of dog sitting and we had just about enough shihtzu.

No time for Photos tonight! Heading out for dinner after a long fortnight . .

Found this beer i thought id try :) Not bad at all, first time i've ever been a little bit silly on minimum chips : )

(Is that an Australian-ism) ?

OK, technically not a good picture at all. The subject was the reason to upload this one. It's a Porsche Carrera GT, which you probably will not spot "in the wild" very often (or ever). Only 1.270 of these 452.000 EUR (~$712.000) super-cars were handmade by Porsche in Leipzip / Germany.

I was lucky enough to visit the facility in Leipzip 3 years ago, while they were finishing the last few hundreds of these incredible cars. We saw 2 in different steps of the build process and 3 finished ones. The finished cars were protected by a cover and the porsche staff declined to remove to cover to let us take a look... So today it was the sixth GT I saw but the first at full glance and driving :-)

BTW, the sound this machine makes is absolutely stunning. Much like an F1 car, especially in a tunnel. I've opened all windows and enjoyed the noise :-)

Busy day and a lack of inspiration. These flowers made me smile...

I love tea, and I love parties; combine this with a picnic and it would be my favorite kind of party.

How exciting would it have been to have a garden party with Alice and the Mad Hatter, the March Hare and of course the door mouse. It would be quite and interesting little event.

June 7, 158/365 (889/1096)- Today is last full day of school for this school year so I thought I should get some of my students to do one last "bench Monday" shot.

Evidently many of mine have been removed from the Bench Monday pool because I didn't follow all the rules, so here is a Bench Monday shot that-

- people are standing (not sitting)

- on a bench (not a soda machine or cabinets)

- wearing something cute (or at least looked OK to me)!

HBM!

LATE LATE lunch today...I'm literally shaking from hunger! I have had these since I was a kid, and I still love them...just a quick something to pop into the oven when I don't feel like putting forth any effort, lol!

The home of my Nexus 7. Anyone in the market for a nice case should really look at these speck ones. Very nicely made.

Able to eat again I was much more of a joy to be around and so after breakfast we went for a walk. As nice as it was I struggled to find anything to photograph other than trees and greenery - so here's some trees and greenery.

Here's Perksie. He supplies all the top restaurants with fish from Brixham. Very photogenic chap he is too.

Today it was Fire Fighters Day at the Cumberland Heritage Village Museum, and there were plenty of opportunities for kids of all ages to learn more about fire, fire safety and fire fighting.

Here Olivia is being taught by one of Ottawa's finest on how to use a fire extinguisher.

David's father died in 1967, when he was 44, his eldest child was 22, and his youngest child was 11.

I got to borrow (long enough to photograph the photograph, heh) this picture of him taken when he was around 20 years old, which would put it at about 1942.

Quite a gleam in that eye, eh?

I added this to his memorial on Find A Grave:

158/365: 7 June 2011

I can't decide if i want to keep this photo or replace it with another version I have.

What do you think? Stick with this or go with this?

Records have it that initially the French were captivated by the tall, fair-skinned strawberry blonde with conflower blue eyes, charming wit and vivacious personality. But as time went by, the increased lack of interest from her husband and barrage of criticism from her own mother caused Marie Antoinette to plunge further into the costly diversions of gambling, with cards and horse-betting, as well as trips to the city and new clothing, shoes, pomade and rouge.

Even this horse may be departing. The 7-11 grocery chain has bought the east coast Mobil service stations.

Pegasus was introduced to Australia by the Vacuum Oil Company, which subsequently merged with Standard Oil Company of New York, to form SOCONY-Vacuum, which became SOCONY-Mobil, then Mobil and, finally, Exxon-Mobil.

Do they still have the horse?

After a far too long break from the gym, Jenn and I decided to start back up. Here's hoping we don't fall off the bandwagon just when we're making progress like last time.

Why do I always cause more washing up when I cook than when Kate does?

Day 158:

So as I mentioned in yesterday’s photo that Sheri, myself and others were going to

go do karaoke last night. We braved the pouring rain to go do it and ended up having

a really good time. I got lots of photos and some video as well. Maybe I’ll put up some

on our YouTube page. It really needs some new videos, the others are a little old my now. If you haven’t seen them. You can get to our page here: www.youtube.com/profile?user=SturdyVillaSatellite

Today the gummy bears are re-enacting the piano scene from the movie “Big”. Using a

gift card that Sheri got this Christmas. :)

...at 11pm. I am well lit today.

((For those of you who have the interest in or patience for the trials and tribulations of my "homework", we tripped across wiring for lights inside the upper molding of 4 windows and a door in our dining room. They are all pointed at and aid in the lighting up of our ceiling. We plugged some lights in today. They're getting rewired tomorrow. They look killer. They make everything in the room look KILLER.))

Sorry, nothing creative today.

I worked today and I look like crap and it's dark out so I have nothing to do 365-wise.

I even had something planned for today, before I was called into work. Grr. :/

So here's one of those "the crap that's in my purse" shots.
