The afternoon sun was streaming in through the windows and I had yet to take my picture for the day. I made a makeshift table, plopped the apple upon it to emphasize the shadow and snap, snap, snap here we go. Looks like I've been favoring the lower right hand third for my shots lately, time to mix it up a little.
"Compositionally Challenged Week 23 - Background"
For Sunday's theme, "cheese" at the threesixtyfive group.
This just doesn't do the cheese any justice but I am really, really tired and it was one of those days when I could barely deal with my 365...
I must say, I am quite the cheese fan myself. Give me anything from mild to stinky cheese - I'll take it! LOL!
Today I came pretty close to ending my 365. I just could not be bothered. I scrounged around for something to photograph. Not the most exciting but I am still in the game. Also, I would probably be so annoyed with myself for stopping. I know there are ups and downs through the 365 and you just have to push through the times of no inspiration!
The unknown Flickrite. Have you ever had a bad face day? You know...when it wasn't just the hair? I know....I need to get a life....
Some time around in the afternoon, I met up with Andrew to watch him shoot a pre-cotillion photoshoot. I stood on the side and from time to time, gave him some tips and pointers. Its nice sometimes to watch another photograph do what they do and if you feel the need to say something, say it. I took some behind the scene photos and small chat. Afterwards, headed back to my place to chill for a bit. Picked up Mindy from Bart and shopped at Thrift Town for a bit since it was me and Mindy's monthly anniversary. Picked up a Polard camera model I didn't have for a great price. All in all, a good day.
D700 || 50mm F/1.4 AF-D
I've never taken a photograph here before, although I've taken several nearby. Day 53, 63 and 73 in fact, which goes to show I at least try hard not to go back to the same place everyday. Difficult as it is to resist!
I ventured out into the wilds, tramping through the long grass and streams. Behaviour which this week has caused me some problems. On Monday, after wandering through the wilderness, I developed a nasty bite. More appeared throughout the week. And then finally (do not read if you're just about to eat), I discovered a.... tick.
And on that note.... have a nice weekend!
Back in Texas, we spotted this Swainson's Hawk quite far away...
According to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, Swainson's Hawks take off for Argentine wintering grounds in the fall—one of the longest migrations of any American raptor—forming flocks of hundreds or thousands as they travel.
For my ongoing bird-a-day project for 2017. Thanks all!
20220607_0889_7D2-100 Jonquil centre (158/365)
Winter has just started and we haven't even had a hard frost so far, but these jonquils are flowering already. Snow, possibly to sea level is forecast for the weekend.

#13951
Well he seems to have stuck around! I was able to get a little closer this time but he's still very wary. Time to order myself a new, longer lens I think...
Also, I'm guessing, from the differences I looked up, that this a male fox. However, it is pretty hard to tell, so unless anyone knows better, I've decided to call him called Felix 😂
Sometimes, it helps to focus on something else to make everything clear. :)
Had an unbelievably busy day today..... looking back at it I can't believe what I've managed to acheive. I will sleep well tonight! :)
Lighting: Metered for the dusk sky. 430EX handheld above my head with left arm. Fired by Canon ST-E2. Tweaked in Lightroom.
Looks kind of like I've cut myself out and stuck a background in there... which I haven't, obviously.
+3 in comments.
Scanned.
I did quite a few different scan shoots today so I'll upload another one later or tomorrow or maybe not. We'll have to see!
I went out yesterday to get prints done and buy a frame and managed to set myself back on my recovery by a few days cos now my back hurts a little again! Annoyed about that but dont regret it cos at least I'm forcing myself out a little. Need to go out tomorrow too to take the prints to the gallery for the exhibition I might be in! I have 2 of my cousins helping carry the stuff though which is good. I've been very fortunate the last couple of weeks with how helpful my family have been - I definitely owe them all a hugee thank you!
You know they say everything in life happens for a reason? Well, if I hadnt gotten injured and had gone on my trip, I'd have been stuck in Turkey right now and wouldnt have made it to the exhibition entry dates and all that. So maybe thats why this happened. On the other hand, I'd be amongst thousands of people rioting in the streets of Kurdistan and between that and an exhibition, I'd always pick that so I dunno. Just thinking through my fingers
Another daily challenge I have struggled with, then I remembered that it was Texture Tuesday and I almost abandoned the challenge completely, so here's my thinking....this is a Hydrangea flower bud, the plant is enormous and dwarfs my little flowers so I have to really cut it back every year and now the little flower buds are slowly beginning to change and you can see the pink flowers coming through. The Texture Tuesday challenge was to include Words and so I have used 2 of Kim Klassen's textures one with words and I also found a quote that fit really well for both challenges.
No one is in control of your happiness but you; therefore, you have the power to change anything about yourself or your life that you want to change ~ Barbara de Angelis
I have made so many changes in the past year including taking up photography, which is probably part of my therapy too so this image is for me !!

Thanks for stopping to view, comment and fave my image, all are very much appreciated :o)
Wow. I cannot thank all of you enough for all of the comments and favorites on my previous photo. Still feelings kind of funky and having to work really hard at motivating for my 365, but all of those good vibes really helped! Bless!
Fifth in the series where I work through the lyrics of Counting Crows song "Round Here".

This one took forever to make. I actually went ahead and cut all those articles out of the paper, taped them to strings and then went ahead and clipped the colourful strings on them. But the worst part was getting the light right. I wanted it to be really moody and directive without affecting the background to much. I need a bigger place for stuff like this. I would love to be able to get into a studio from time to time to get these shots perfect (or close to it).
