These beautiful grosbeaks are just coming back to West Texas where they nest. Grosbeaks are in the Cardinal family and breed in parts of the western states.
Thanks so much for the faves and nice comments.

The last shot I took on my trip to Birmingham.. I do have a couple more to share. Can't wait to go again! I know what I'm looking for next time : )
You can just see a little bit of purple in the background (a tram waiting) I perhaps should have waited for the tram to come my way, but I wanted a tram line shot, and I got one so it's all good. The trams look like something from the future.

Haven't had much time or motivation today. So this is an abstract shot of a balloon whisk.
Sorry, I am trying my best but I'm not being very good at keeping up with commenting lately.
It's pouring out here in LA but I know it won't ruin my Wednesday.
I'm sending some sunshine your way,
may you have enough sunlight to brighten your day!! :)
Raw edged applique and collage. I used small pieces in three values to create the still life. I love how the quilting adds shadows, textures, and movement. #cy365 #captureyour365 'off prompt' Day112/365.
Spotted this today on a HWS photowalk@ Botanical Gardens, Kondapur, Hyderabad. Thanks to my friend Himadri, for accompanying me..
After the great series of water drop collisions I got yesterday, I was expecting good things from today's shoot!
However, nothing seemed to go right! It took me ages to get the timing right to shoot a collision, and just as I'd got a bit of rhythm going, the batteries in all three of my external flashguns gave up in quick succession!
So, this is the best of a bad bunch today! Hopefully I'll have better luck tomorrow!

Day 112 - 365/2023 - A Never-Ending Journey
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Adult Male - Haemorhous mexicanus
Monday are always busy at work and rarely produce great images. I'm just happy to stay in the game, and yesterday was no exception. After another long day at work, I took our management team to dinner to celebrate some recent outstanding business results. I knew they had a wood burning pizza, and was hoping it would make for a half decent shot. My pizza is the one on the left.

112 of 365 Yellow - this is the last little flower left in the vase - it has lasted well as I received them at the begining of this month - got my moneys worth as the saying goes :-)
I suggested a practical demonstration of this famous thought experiment. Moriarty isn't keen and would like to point out it has nothing to do with Earth Day.

The weed around both feet looks very similar to the stuff growing in the river just 100m away.

When driving to work this morning I spotted this hot air balloon in my rear view mirror. I quickly pulled over and grabbed my camera and took a few shots.
I've only recently started consistently taking my camera to work, mainly due to the numerous opportunities that have resulted in me cursing to myself because i didnt have it.
I love living in Bristol. One of the reasons is the amount of balloon activity in the area when the weather is fair. Bristol hosts an annual 4 day International Balloon Fiesta every August. They have mass ascents in the mornings and evenings and 2 night glows as well as music, fairground rides and stalls etc. It's a real family day out and one that I haven't made the most of in the past.
This summer will be different. My little boy will have moved in by then and as I have all summer off work with adoption leave. We will be spending many days at local events like this as part of our bonding period. I can't wait!
Hopefully there will be many more balloon shots in my photostream this year!!
I feel like a private eye. I'm sure the neighourbood people and those who walked by thought I was up to no good.
My intention was to show that there is still ice on the lake and unless the weather improves it will be there into May. I found it is really hard to take a rear view self portrait from inside the vehicle. I should have brought my gorillipod and wrapped it around the headrest and stepped outside.
20210422_6323_7D2-170 Water (112/365)
The hydrant atop what I think is an artesian well was open when we got to there on our Travis Wetland walk today. Water was gushing about 1m into the air. A short while later a Park Ranger arrived and shut it off, blaming local youths for turning it on (school holidays here in New Zealand).

Think that this may be the first Bench on a Monday for this year. I added a Sepia Hint preset as the light was fading and the original seemed a little dull !
Thanks for views, comments and faves, all are very much appreciated :)

Project 365 Week 16 Day 112 - Whatever !!
Our Daily Challenge - Begins with I
Israel "IZ" Kaʻanoʻi Kamakawiwoʻole ( May 20, 1959 – June 26, 1997) was a Hawaiian musician. He became famous outside Hawaii when his album Facing Future was released in 1993. His medley of "Over the Rainbow" and "What a Wonderful World" was subsequently featured in several films, television programs, and commercials.
Through his ukulele playing and incorporation of other genres (such as jazz and reggae), Kamakawiwoʻole remains one of the major influences in Hawaiian music over the course of 15 years.
Check out the song and see him here. Sorry about the commercial at the beginning but you'll soon forget it as you listen to the song. Have a great day

Not much to say today.
Still recovering from being sick all week.
Feeling a little camera shy today.
Took a photo of my eye though.
It made me smile to see my xmas lights in the reflection of my eye.
Yes, I am one of those people that have lights ( of various kinds) up year round.
The good Jew that I am and all.
