Day 107 - 365/2023 - A Never-Ending Journey

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Foggy & wet all day then at six this evening...

Pink clouds & contrails in the sky

Our birds love this nesting material. It is soft cotton fluff in a wire cage. We bought it on Amazon. It's called "Songbird Essentials SE7021 Hummer Helper Cage and Nesting." If you want to help your birds nest, you may want to look at this. This is a male (dark eyes) Bushtit gathering material to help with nest building, unlike male hummingbirds!

Disaster averted. Finally got hold of ex-flatmate. Seems that his new employers sent notification that he has to go stay in a hotel for a month to do his training to this address so he only found out when he came back to sort things out here. Therefore he had to rush back to Rugby. Phew! Went to relax in Shelley Park though it's not so warm today.

A year ago today

Broke down and bought another 50 mm lens from ebay to replace the one I broke. FYI - I sold the broken one on ebay for $24.99. Yay for e-bay.

am having such a good time with overlays. this is the white duck with a texture of a coral, i think, that was tucked away in my textures "folder". now i need to find more textures or better yet create some new textural pictures!!

Sorry, it's almost impossible to do sexy with Evildog. We are just two clowns. It's ok if the BSB group wants to dump it!

107/365: 2015

#17 for April/2015: A month in 30 pictures

After a very tiring, stressful day yesterday, photographing a wedding, I am 'photographed out' and really couldn't think what to do for today. I bought this pomegranate earlier in the week (for photographic purposes) I find pomegranates disappointing and not fit for much, other than taking a photograph of. So today's offering is another food macro...hope it doesn't give you the pip! ;)

Hope to catch up with all your pics soon!

And cold as coal

when you're ending

with diamond eyes

Oh come, child

Oh come, child

Come and rescue me

'cause

you

have

seen

some

Unbelievable

things

Irish did this one here and then Tina did a copy cat here. I decided let's make it threes a company. Who else wants in?

Day 107 2017 365 (C)

An eventful trip to Kent's major Early Spider Orchid population spiced up with rain, hail, sleet, high winds and cliff rockfalls! Not so many this year due to adverse weather conditions being extremely dry but the orchids that have bloomed are real beauties with a wide variety of colours and forms. This is just one example with others to come.....

As Schroeder, my favorite Peanuts character, once said "buying records cheers me up... whenever I feel low I buy some new records."

Explored 04/18! Thank you all!

Parliament Square was laid out in 1868 in order to open up the space around the Palace of Westminster and improve traffic flow, and featured London's first traffic signals. A substantial amount of property had to be cleared from the site. The architect responsible was Sir Charles Barry.

Wow its been far too long since I last posted!! 9_9

I hate having more excuses but this one is quite real and there was nothing I could do about it. I was sick.. again.

Normally, being sick wouldn't stop me. But rest was what I needed. :) I didn't really even go on the computer much let alone flickr.. so I will catch up on all your streams!! :O)

On the positive side of things!! I just got studio lights!! *WHOOT*!!!!! =D

I don't have a clue how to use them so if you guys have any helpful articles you wanna send my way.. that'd be great. ;-)

so this, is my first experiment using the lights.. nothing fancy. I had a hard enough time setting them up!! =P

oh yes.. i used part of "Elusive Actions" on this. I really wasn't going for the look of the action, so don't try it and be dissapointed if it does'nt turn out like this. =P I broke it down a lot, but it was a big help!! :)

Dear Flickr,

I’ll be honest. The reason why I’ve been feeling so down in the dumps was because of my relationship with this boy right here. We weren’t fighting. Neither of us did something wrong. I just wasn’t feeling right. The emotion came over me like a wave determined to drown me. It haunted me and devastated me. I didn’t know what to do with myself or where I stood with him. I tried hiding the pain..he began to see it. I often felt like he didn’t care and maybe that was wrong of me to think that but when nothing is going right..you don’t care if your thoughts were wrong.

Maybe I am naïve. Maybe I don’t know what’s good for me. But I know that I do love him. I know I do. I know I always will. Even when the world is determined to run me into the ground, I know he’ll be there..in some way, shape or form. And maybe it’s taken me this whole week to come back to realizing it but when I looked at him last night..everything fell into place again.

Always,

Makayla

Back on day 59, this boy broke up with me. Of course, I took it hard. But then I started moving on..or atleast my mind did. My heart never did. And it never will..no matter what happens. Weeks later, he told me how much he messed up..how much he missed me..how much he loves me. I was confused; battling more than just broken hearts and misguided feelings. I knew that it’s people that walk away from people; love doesn’t do the walking. And perhaps that’s why we’re back together.

I know my friends don’t support my decision. I know my family doesn’t always either. I know I have done more complaining about my doubts this week than I ever should have. I know sometimes I don’t always make sense. I know that may bother some of you but my emotions are like a yo-yo; always going up and down, up and down.

Yesterday, I saw a shadow of a creature flying around. I looked up to see a dragonfly flying around me as I walked home from school. I knew my Pepere was telling me everything was going to be okay. I put my trust in him and I finally let myself just feel the one thing I’ve been striving for this past week; happiness.

This is the first time in forever he’s taken a picture with me. Considering it’s day 107 and this is the first time you see him.

I take too many grass pictures but I like this one better than the other one to the right. Although I like the idea more, the graininess of it and the poop edit turn me away.

Ohoh! This is my first sepia edit on my photostream :D

Well since I’ve written a novel..I should probably go take my picture for today.

P.S. Any ideas on what I should title this?

The magnificent magnolia flowers are already mostly on the ground. Something so beautiful rarely lasts very long sadly, but they were the best I have seen this year.

Ein weiteres Bild aus der Reihe: Abendspaziergang in Walsrode

Llyn Ogwen is a lake in north-west Wales. It lies alongside the A5 road between two mountain ranges of Snowdonia, the Carneddau and the Glyderau.

Llyn Ogwen lies at a height of about 310 metres above sea level and has an area of 78 acres, but is a very shallow lake, with a maximum depth of only a little over 3 metres. It is fed by a number of streams from the slopes of the mountains which surround it, which include Tryfan and Pen yr Ole Wen.

The lake is popular with anglers and is said to contain excellent trout.

In Basel for a few days and my hotel is right on the river. This week is the river festival, so lots of free live music.

Finally got around to titling this one, thanks all who suggested a title, but I liked Deana's the most. Thanks, D.

I saw the clouds today, and combined with the wind, I thought I'd get some pretty good long exposure shots.. then I realized that my wide lens is no good, and the ND filter only fits on that one... still went out and tried some LEs, but didn't work out at all.. so, I thought I'd return after sunset and give it another try.. only to see that the clouds had completely gone after sunset.. the sky was crystal clear..!

But, I did like this one when I took this during the day.. and with some post work, I like the final result.

Thanks, and Good Night.

The three sisters living in this town always welcome you here.
