{2.27.2010 - Day 104 of 365}
Little June is growing up. Today was her first birthday party. Cute babies at Little Monkey Bizness...does it get any better than that?
TRF: Jeff made dinner tonight :)
Another thing about me: I love to drive. Something else I got from my grandfather - where weekends usually involved a long drive either through the country, out to "western" MD, or just around town for various chores. Vacations were always long road trips. Given the choice 99 times out of 100 I'd prefer to drive than to be a passenger.
The skull of a small mammal (opossum or raccoon) found in our backyard. The canines and incisors are missing from the upper jaw.

Here are Slightlynorth, PunkJr, and me doing a tandem GTARS jump shot on the roof at NW Sunshine's place. I can't even begin to imagine the looks we got as we did the shot.
Thanks to Slightlynorth for letting me borrow his 10.5mm fisheye for this. I really need to get that lens now.
April 14th. With a break in the weather we went for a walk on Fistral Beach and for a short period of time the sun came out. Oh how the orange socks loved to be free on the beach, if only for a short time.
I'm back to work and kids back to school tomorrow so may have less time for the clever stuff. look out for sock snaps!
Do you know how hard Corn Syrup is to get out of hair!! haha
I have to thank my hubby for the arm and for letting me pour syrup all over him ;)

This is my new picture for my 365 project for the weekly theme "Who You Are".
I have to admit, that I love my old, manual lenses; and yes, I always take them for my pictures, except for this picture =)
Captured with a Nikon Df and a Nikkor Ai 50mm ƒ1:1.8, post processed in Lightroom using VSCO Film.
Please don't spam my photo thread! Comments with awards or photos will be removed immediately!

Week 15 Day 104
Watching the icicles melt this afternoon I decided to see if I could catch a drop like Susan did in "Swirl". It's not easy...those little fellows are fast and you don't know when they're coming. This also seemed to be the safe thing to do after yesterday's near miss.
This week's theme assignment is to show a photo with who you are in it. I'm not a flower, but I do enjoy sitting on the back porch at the end of my work day, hanging out with my fur & human family, watching the birds and squirrels, and enjoying our little garden and the sunshine. :)
Can you tell? I loved my first dental dam picture so much I decided to revisit the theme. That one focused on the fun, whimsical side of the dentist. This one is more about terror.
No photo taken today - instead created this b&w conversion from one of my images taken on island Fehmarn.

Forget about the reasons why you can't in life,
And start to try, cause it's your time,
Time to fly
Definitely not the clearest or neatest picture...but it was still cool to me. Went outside to take a picture of something else but saw this & decided it was better. I didn't want to distract the bird either because I knew if I went over to the other side of the car, it'd fly away so I took whatever I could get!
Over-processed, I know..but it was necessary :X
Don’t you get it? I’ve gone mad here trying to please you. But everything I do is wrong. And nothing feels right when you feel wrong. I am not the type to hold grudges but now I am mad at you for everything bad you have ever done to me. All the hurt, lies, heartbreak..I’m angry at you. I can’t even tell you. None of it matters..
When I’m not trying to convince myself I’m “okay”, I cry. I cry tears you will never recognize. I don’t feel right. None of this feels right. It all feels wrong. Wrong.
I’m not okay. That I can promise you.
The weird angle and “not right” way of lying on the bed are details I added to tie into the ‘wrong’ vibe of the photo. I add stuff like that from time to time.
I don’t know why but I’m really in love with the purposely crappy and grainy edit in comments. What do you guys think?
I really like when people ask me questions and tell me things on formspring.
8,100+ views today! 1,000 more views in 3 days. You guys really are amazing to me, did you know that?<3
Take a look with me down from the Castel Sant'Angelo! At our very feet lies Rome, the eternal city.
„O wie fühl´ ich mich in Rom so froh! Gedenk´ ich der Zeiten, Da mich ein graulicher Tag hinten im Norden umfing, …“ (Johann W. von Goethe, Römische Elegien)
My Wife bought these for my daughter very recently and it made my day! This is one of the very few shots for 365 where I spent hardly any time!
Theme: Socks!
the Stavros S Niarchos in Greenock harbour. Owned and run by The Tall Ships Youth Trust the brig is currently for sale so that the charity can concentrate on smaller less expensive vessels
Pssst...to all you lovely people out there still in their twenties (and probably some of you early-thirties folks too) or-gulp-younger, let me tell you something: Every cliché you've heard before? IS TRUE.
Time does go faster as you get older. :-)
Today is one year already since I quit smoking. A whole year! Pete had his year two days ago! Neither of us had even one cigarette and we haven't killed each other or anyone else (though we may have wanted to occasionally). We didn't use patches or pills or anything else. I smoked for 22 years, he for about 30!
Yes, I miss it pretty much every day, for one moment, but it passes and I know it will get easier as more time passes. And time is moving fast, so I got that going for me. :-)

Tonight's sunset was too pretty not to stop and admire. Bunny wants to make sure you don't miss it!
You can read more about Bunny at TalesAndTails.com.
ok... so there's this thing called Sisterhood, and this guy... who took it upon himself to obtain stripey socks (with barfy hearts) and send them along their merry way amongst said Sisterhood (can I get a whoop whoop!?)
these are my toes/feet, folded in prayer, that the socks may actually make their way to us!

VIAGGIO
era in me e fuori di me.
Durante tutto il viaggio la nostalgia non si è separata da me
e del viaggio non mi resta nulla se non quella nostalgia.

TRAVEL
Throughout the trip, the nostalgia is not separate from me
I do not say that it was like my shadow
stood beside me in the dark
I do not say that it was like my hands and my feet
when you sleep you lose your hands and feet
I did not miss the nostalgia even while you sleep
throughout the journey nostalgia is not separate from me
I do not say that it was hunger or thirst or desire
nell'afa of fresh or warm in the cold
was something that can not reach satiety
was not joy or sadness was not linked
the cities to the clouds to songs with memories
I was in and out of me.
Throughout the trip, the nostalgia is not separate from me
and the trip I just have nothing but the nostalgia.
