David is a masterpiece of Renaissance sculpture created between 1501 and 1504, by the Italian artist Michelangelo. With a height of 5.17 meters, the David was the first colossal marble statue made in the early modern period following classical antiquity, a precedent for the 16th century and beyond.

David was a teacher/educator for most of his life. He's a great conversationalist and has a sharp memory of his past comings and goings. I had a wonderful time chatting with him.

David was sitting outside a downtown 7-11 asking for change. He looked a young man, so I asked him why he was on the street asking for money. He told me he was a foundry worker from Quebec, who was hired to come to Vancouver for a lucrative construction job. But when he got here a week ago, his contact disappeared. The man who promised him a good paying job simply vanished. Without a telephone number or his last name, David has been unable to find this guy, so he's now without a job or enough money to find a home.

David was a friendly man who was standing outside The Penthouse at Grand Plaza, just north of Grand Avenue on State Street. He was friendly and we struck up a conversation right away. He's been out here about seven years. "All my relatives have died and I'm the only one left...family is important." He's trying to get enough money to stay in a cheap men's hotel. "I don't like sleeping on the street, because I don't want to get beat up. After midnight, it gets crazy out here". That's when he leaves. He wants to stay away from trouble and bad people. "They'll steal your stuff", he said. He was recalling some of the experiences he had on the street, but also as a warning to me, which was kind of nice. David genuinely cared about people.

The intention of this shoot was to show off her really long legs as much as possible but I really just like how this shot came out.

When it comes to photography, David is definatly one of my biggest inspirations. He's constantly trying new things, just to see how they turn out.

I hope I can learn to stop being so afraid to break the rules like David does.

I had the pleasure of shooting this weekend with David, and his band. I've always wanted to do some promos for them, and I finally had the chance. I'm nervous to post them, but I will soon!
