David Gray and husband Stuart Lorimer were the very first to commission their portraits almost a decade ago now. This new one marks a special anniversary!

Angel Fire, New Mexico

I had decided to try some very long exposure shots but did not have anything with me other than my finger to control the bulb exposure. I must have tried this at least 7 times with times ranging from 2 to 4 minutes and with combinations of different settings. It was getting really cold and my finger was getting cramped holding down the shutter button for so long!

Le David de Michel-Ange est une oeuvre impressionnante. L'observer est un moment assez peu commun. La mise en valeur de cet idéal masculin, à Florence, sous cette coupole de lumière, est plus que justifiée.

David is stranger #12 in my 100 strangers project. After shooting Lauren's portrait (Stranger #11, who btw came by and saw her picture and liked it :) I walked further under the pier and came across David and his friend Brenda. They were enjoying the beautiful day and were both happy to be a part of my stranger project.

I always try to learn something with each of my strangers. With David I learned I need to be careful with the light. I took this shot with the light coming in from the side which caused issues with the shadows on the left side of his face. When I went to shoot Brenda I turned so that the light was coming from behind me and hence I didn't have the shadow issue I have here with David. ~ Thanks David for being in my 100 strangers project.

David is a masterpiece of Renaissance sculpture created between 1501 and 1504, by the Italian artist Michelangelo. With a height of 5.17 meters, the David was the first colossal marble statue made in the early modern period following classical antiquity, a precedent for the 16th century and beyond.

This photo was taken over the weekend when we took our grandbabies to the Oceano Dunes and they experienced sand for the first time. They both loved it and we loved having them here watching them experience new things.

David was a teacher/educator for most of his life. He's a great conversationalist and has a sharp memory of his past comings and goings. I had a wonderful time chatting with him.

David Bowie Mural In New York City

Found this chap hibernating (with wings and antennae tucked in) on a cobweb covered ball of refuse. I didn't even notice the other wee poser when I took the shot. Apparently, they're involved in a discourse of world cultural philosophical differences.

David was a friendly man who was standing outside The Penthouse at Grand Plaza, just north of Grand Avenue on State Street. He was friendly and we struck up a conversation right away. He's been out here about seven years. "All my relatives have died and I'm the only one left...family is important." He's trying to get enough money to stay in a cheap men's hotel. "I don't like sleeping on the street, because I don't want to get beat up. After midnight, it gets crazy out here". That's when he leaves. He wants to stay away from trouble and bad people. "They'll steal your stuff", he said. He was recalling some of the experiences he had on the street, but also as a warning to me, which was kind of nice. David genuinely cared about people.

The intention of this shoot was to show off her really long legs as much as possible but I really just like how this shot came out.
