A peacful cruise from Totnes to Dartmouth down the River Dart in Devon we passed by this lovely house.
This section is about 1-2 kms upstream from the start of the Dart/Rees walking track.
The colour of the Dart River was quite muddy due to around 300mm of rain falling a couple of days previously. Normally the colour of the Dart River is a beautiful bluey green.
I went playing darts at a friends house the other day. I have never played it before so much to my surprise I was quite good or maybe my friends were just poor?
I was trying to "freeze" the dart using a fast shutter speed along with my new flash Canon Speedlite 580 EXII, but as you see it is out of focus. I had 1/1000 on this one but I guess a 1/2000 or more would do the job.

This is either a female or juvenile Darter (Anhinga melanogaster), also known as "snake birds" with their serpentine neck. They use their pointed bill to spear fish along rivers and around wetlands.
Today was a walk with Ruby towards Old Heathfield Church and back in a circular route lots to see in the fine weather and as always lots of varied images from Ruby to a Spitfire and a batch of insects and a landscape. A couple of images of the clouds and my Darter image is one I really like.
