** This could be a Common Darter or perhaps a Red Veined Darter , I think its probably the latter though what do i know. It was taken at the North Cave wetland reserve in East Yorkshire

As this is a very recently emerged individual and so very fresh and lacking much colour there was a bit of a discussion as to which species but the general consensus was Black Darter

A beautiful autumnal walk along the East Dart River starting from Dartmeet, in the heart of Dartmoor.

This female Black Darter was resting up on some emergent horsetail at one of the easily accessible pools in the Abernethy NNR, Highlands
............pleased to have got a few shots of a female Common Darter on probably my last visit to the Claypit this year. E-M=MK111/100-400mm.

Perfect weather for a cruise on the river… ‘The Dart Explorer’, a 300 seat luxury catamaran operated by the Dartmouth Steam Railway and River Boat Company, sailing out of Dartmouth in Devon.
There is this place, called by some "Tranquility Bay" where many Australasian Darters were born. There are still several families enjoying the special ambience of this place.

Red Darter Dragonfly photographed this morning at Dyfi Osprey project, Powys, Wales - chuffed with this one
These two darters where sitting together, one of them drying its wings in the morning sun. Then they moved even closer and this happened. Just a short moment of bliss.
I've seen many birds behaving this way: parrots and cockatoos, fairy wrens and slivereyes, and even the ravens but this was for the first time I could watch the Australasian Darters displaying their affection...
Hello my flickr friends and l've been on my holidays and l went to, with my family, 15 of us, puerto de la cruz, tenerife, canary islands and this was taken at the botanical gardens and in england l would say that is a ruddy darter?
