Archive rummaging on a rainy, gray Seattle morning.

Not terribly sharp on the Kingfisher but I quite like the light. Looks a bit rubbish this size, better large.

It's nice when people will balance on a tree for you.

Here's another photo from a recent trip to Long Hill Gardens, here in Beverly, MA. The late afternoon light was beautiful and I loved the dappled light on the path, so I took another picture. Tonight I edited the original, cropping the image to line up the edges of the path with the bottom of the photo.

Beautiful shady autumnal lane.

I seem to have spent a lot of time wandering the attractive churchyard and sometimes mooching in St Michael's Church at Colwich. That'll be due to waiting for a bus connection to or from Lichfield.

The Earls of Lichfield and other prominent local families such as the Wolseleys have been buried here and it's a fine church.

Parts of the church, the arcades, are Early English, the tower was built in the Gothic style in 1640 and the remainder was rebuilt in 1856 by H J Stevens, of Derby.

36 degrees outside, what dappled light there was from the west. Sensational.

Had to go and buy some trousers on the way to work this morning, as the zip on the ones I was wearing kept coming open. I think I might have put a few pounds on recently...!

Popped out for a short walk again after eating lunch, and spotted some pretty blossom on some of the tombstones in Bunhill Fields. Another lovely sunny May day - good for the soul to get out and soak it up!

I had a walk over the east hill in Hastings. The light was strange over the sea.
