I was have a good wander around the forest, you know it’s good when you get yourself lost. As for photography, it was not looking . Walking through an overgrow trail (which I could never find again) and looking very dark on my flanks, I spied this little scene of dappled light.

Your journey has molded you for the greater good, and it was exactly what it needed to be. Don't think that you've lost time. It took each and every situation you have encountered to bring you to the now. And now is right on time ~ Asha Tyson

Dappled light ig great in a jungle. Amazing light create a beauty.

Canola still blooming in places. Most I’ve ever seen on the Palouse. There’s so much of it you get a little desensitized. Otherwise it’s been an amazing year for our crops.

When i was grovelling in the woods over a week ago for my first Bluebell shot of the season I have to admit age and some limitations didn't help but I do love vintage bokeh though was finding it extra difficult.. Jonathan bought this lens for my birthday which incidentally is today, because I had looked at many reviews and thought the auto focus might help in this new lens, length 135mm f/1.8.. It was ordered one day and delivered the next and in time for me to test that is was fine. So the other day when i went the first of two short walks. I was able with the Sony A7RM3 to auto focus on the flower I wished, I then had the facility to override the auto focus using manual focus DMF in the camera settings and also bought up the focus magnifier to tweak where I wanted it sharp. It definitely is not vintage but I personally still loved the painterly bokeh I was able to get but with a little help initially from the auto focus ability of the lens. The new lens is a Samyang 135mm f1.8 and I will hopefully get some portrait shots too which is one of its main strengths but I don’t use any lens conventionally tbh….

This year has been wonderful for the Bluebells...possibly due to the lack of rain to flatten them these past few weeks.

Taken, heading back up a hill towards Chesham on one of my daily exercise walks last week.

LOL...I was so surprised how this turned out...have a Happy Bokeh Wednesday...as usual I'm still behind and I'm sorry but had to share this.

Black Redstart. (Phoenicurus ochruros).

There is a mantra in bird photography which is, 'always have the sun coming from over your shoulder' or 'your shadow should always point towards the bird except for backlit shots.' I say 'naaa stick ya rules..do what floats your boat and not someone else's.'

The slightly mottled background is just a product of compression. The uncompressed image has a perfectly smooth appearance.

KanlıKavak Parkı, Eskişehir, Turkey. Nice morning for a picnic!

I have quite the backlog of photos at the minute after this fox project together with two great trips to the Cairngorms and Shetland (expect more Otter photos!). So to mix things up a little here's a couple of photos from an ongoing project with a friendly female fox I've got to know.

Posting tonite as I am going to try and get an early start tomorrow.

The same species as my last post, either a juvenile or a female, both of which look the same to me.

Taken later in the day when the rain had stopped and sun was peeking out from behind the remaining clouds. The feeder is out of the frame to the right and is casting a shadow, but with clear acrylic parts of the feeder allowing some light through. My favorite part of this image is definitely the light. Although it is taken out my window looking into my yard, it has a look of being taken in dappled light in the woods.

Great light, I feel can make just about any subject look good giving an advantage to most any image. Always worth being on the lookout for it. I really do like the light in my last post very much, but this, although very different is my favorite of the two images. I am really thrilled with this one.

I love the light this time of year. I captured this beautiful blue hydrangea in my local neighbourhood :-)

Happy Fence Friday!

In the summer when the trees are fully leafed out, it can get quite dark out back. The hummingbirds were busy at the Bee Balm, but didn't want to let me get anywhere near them. Between the light and the speed of the hummer, I was challenged to say the least. I'll try again this summer.

A good show of Bluebells in Bank Wood (North), Hassop, Derbyshire Peak District.

Back to the boardwalk and another Heron shot. I couldn't resist posting this one, and posting a larger version than normal. Very little cropping that removed a bit of the actual boardwalk in the corner. The Heron was only about six feet away from the entrance, so I am glad that no one came along.

Detail ended up being quite good, and I am glad for that, but in this one it is the soft dappled light and the surroundings that I am thrilled with. I really like the long grass at the left which is such a lovely green and the fallen tree that still supports other life at it's base. Definitely much more pleasant looking surroundings than my two recently posted Heron shots. Likely my favorite Heron shot I have got to date, so I am thrilled.

Foot Bridge Over A Creek Near Eagle Lake

At the edge of the wood when the sun broke through the rain clouds on a very wet day.

There were quite a lot of bluebells about, though most of the time the light wasn't the best to help them stand out.

The same female fox from before, but this time in lovely evening light. She's definitely getting bolder and now coming within a few metres.

Again, a big thank you to Tanya Linksey for making me aware of this place!

As you can see by this shot taken the following day, the storm clouds have cleared to reveal a luscious landscape.

We had a hefty crop of Jack-O-Lantern mushrooms this year. I got down in the dirt and pine needles to enjoy the view.

A lovely place in the neighbourhood to sit and contemplate life. THANK YOU FOR YOUR VIEWS, COMMENTS, FAVES AND INVITES!
