My woods were amazing late yesterday afternoon.
The sky was clear blue. There was just a light, cool breeze and the temperature
was 75 degrees.
I could hear the birds, but could only see one of two of them. There was a woodpecker
rat-a-tat-tatting but I just couldn’t see him; he was somewhere high up in the branches.
Bluebells were starting to carpet the woodland floor and the scent of wild garlic was in the air.
I was completely alone and started to sing ….. I just couldn’t help it.

When through the woods and forest glades I wander
and hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees;
when I look down from lofty mountain grandeur,
and hear the brook, and feel he gentle breeze;
And when I think that God his son not sparing,
Sent him to die - I scarce can take it in,
That on the cross my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin:
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!

This is a mountain bike trail, not a walking trail.
Located just west of Hood River, Oregon, Post Canyon hosts a favorite mountain bike trail.
Mountain bikers routinely fly down the canyon at frightening speeds.
This bridge located in deep forest is just one of the challenges along the trail.
The weather was glorious ... Standing in the shade of a tree in cool green light, with bright sunlight filtering through the leaves of trees, illuminating foliage, reflecting and creating dappled patterns on the clear water of this stream. I quite like the Impressionist feel to this image.

One sunny afternoon back in September 2018 taken whilst evaluating my wife's Panasonic LX100 as a potential street camera. Pretty capable and discreet little tool as it turns out!
Explore # 303 ...... many thanks :) :)
The noise of a hidden brook in the leafy month of June fills you with such pleasure and along with the dappled light filtering through the trees and the birds singing sweetly around you the moment is quite therapeutic and one that deserved to be taken in very slowly and for as long as you need.
I'll be busy the rest of today... Going to a friend house for a barbecue then out to dinner and bowling with some other friends... I hope to make it on for a little while tonight, but I might not be back on till tomorrow.... If I don't see you: HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!! Enjoy it!! Go out!! Have some fun!! C-ya!!

This is the original colour version of an image I posted previously in B&W. I'm not sure which I prefer...
Looking at the settings I'm also unsure why I'm at 1/4000 ISO 800. I suspect I'd been capturing bugs and forgot to change my settings! A regular occurrence!
Beautiful dappled light bathing a mum and joey kangaroo. Taken in Olive Pink Botanic Garden which borders bushland in Alice Springs Northern Territory.
The light was pretty un-promising when we arrived, but the cloud started to break soon after, resulting in lovely splashes of light across the landscape. Manchester just about visible in the haze in the distance.
A babbling brook on a hot summer's day where you long to cool your feet in the cold mountain waters. Serenity!
and a looking glass wall.
A window and wall captured earlier this year in the upstairs ladies room in Mitchell Hall.
This room had lovely light partly due to the mirror wall behind the window which sent little dappled light across the little room's walls and ceiling. Was kinda sorta like being in a kaleidoscope.
Captured with iPhone with very little editing on the iPad in Snapseed. Just a slight rotation, a tiny bit of contrast to the clouds and a frame.
Respecting the signs to stay on the path, the sun lit a patch of bluebells on the edge of the path.

Dawn's dappled light illuminates the wild lupine, balsamroot, and other wildflowers along the trail to Chatfield Hill in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area just east of Mosier, Oregon along Historic Highway 30.

Title borrowed from an episode of "Tales of the Unexpected", a TV show aired in the UK between 1979-1988. The series began as adaptions of short stories written by the author Roald Dahl, probably better known for his children's novels.
This image is very much a case of right place... right time...
It was more luck than planning - I'd been following two younger stags who were in and out of fighting when I turned around to see this large male watching in the distance.
The shard of light illuminated him perfectly and by underexposing by 3 stops, rendering the background and foreground, which was in shade, much darker, I was able to ensure he was exposed correctly. It allowed for a much more striking image.
