It was - 2 ° this morning brrrrrr but so nice to get a rest from the heavy rain and floods that this Winter has provided us with and a good reason to get all wrapped up and leave that tired brolly at home ....... a very HFF to you all and I hope that you have a peaceful weekend that is full of sunshine just like this Spring shot giving us a taste of what is to come :) :) :) :)
I was waiting with Bob on a bench with my camera while my partner was inside the boulangerie buying our bread. I wanted to take a photo of the outside of the boulangerie but couldn't find the right composition until by chance the baker arrived with a tray of freshly baked brioche and I thought there's my photo! They do all their baking in a bakery opposite from the boulangerie. The Christmas lights you see at an angle are on a very old water fountain.
Smile on Saturday theme : Full of memories
A visit to see bluebells in woodland always brings long-lasting memories of spring to me. The fresh green of the new beech leaves and the stunning blue carpet of flowers harmonize so well.
Also a chance to escape the city life and see my close friend in the countryside.
Among the most elegant of the Herons.....the slender Snowy Egret sets off immaculate white plumage with its black legs and brilliant yellow feet.
This one was in full breeding plumage as witnessed by the red lores and even brighter colored feet.
Couldn't pass this beauty up as it stepped through the foliage and into the early morning light.
Thanks for the views, faves, and always wonderful comments my friends.
Have a Happy Saturday and a Blessed Sunday too !
The River Thames flooded the park but hopefully the new ponds are temporary!
I think this is best viewed at the original size or large.

A day of sunshine and showers in Wasdale creating some nice patches of light on the scree and fells at the head of the lake. Would have loved to have got a still surface and some reflections but wasn't to be on this occasion.
More falling water in my galleries (www.adp-photography.com/galleries)
With waterfalls, I like to experiment with shutter speed, but recent visits to this forest under brilliant sunshine made exposure a bit of a struggle. I have no problem leaving burnt out highlights on the water, afterall, the sun on the water was completely burnt out...full detail would look very odd...but balancing between the dark gorge and brilliant spots and optimum shutter speed was really tricky. Ah well, a reason to go back on a nice easy overcast day
One of the dogs favourite spots and mine too for that matter....Where you can't beat a rich carpet of Beech tree leaves at this time of year.
Big, Bold, and Beautiful Cadillac Eldorado's at Greenwich Concurs Show. This dappled light, sometimes pretty, but always the absolute worse light to shoot anything in!!
Awake! arise! the hour is late!
Angels are knocking at thy door!
They are in haste and cannot wait,
And once departed come no more.
Awake! arise! the athlete's arm
Loses its strength by too much rest;
The fallow land, the untilled farm
Produces only weeds at best.
― Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
HFF!
Zoom in and look at all the details :)
I love this tree tunnel in West Sussex and have visited it and the nearby windmill many times for photography. This one was taken on a very sunny day in September with the trees still in full leaf.
Some dappled light over the Derwent Valley and the slopes leading up to Hathersage Moor. This image was taken one evening last week from the top of Higger Tor. It's a stitch of a couple of images taken with a 105mm lens.
Dipper feeding one of three juveniles under a small bridge hosting the confluence of 3 culverts leading into the river Irwell. The nest was built in the bridge. I believe two juveniles sadly perished the following day as I was not able to find them...I can only presume they were predated. I spent 2 weeks at the site (and another) in all weathers pretty much from dawn till dusk. Watching these birds was reward itself but for me this image was the icing on the cake.

This shot was taken from pretty much the same location and at the same time as the last image I posted but this was at 70mm rather than 24mm to capture the details of the light and shadow across the North Lees Estate below Stanage Edge.
The dappled light caught my eye and I had to catch the moment.
Fall is on its march but we still have lush greenery everywhere.
Thank you for your visit flickr friends, and wishing you well as we start a new week!...Pat..xo
Taken on a lovely walk through Little Dowards woods in the Wye Valley. I love this place and have been lucky to visit many times. Can't wait to get back there again.
A woman sits reading in the shade of these magnificent old trees in Launceston's Prince's Square. This is the city's oldest public park.
I love the opportunity these trees provide with Infra Red in showing the distinct contrast between the light foliage and the dark branches.
Taken in Aman Park this panorama consists of four horizontal format images panned horizontally and stitched together in Photoshop.
This is the rather grand entrance of a house which we often walk past when Bob takes us for a walk. The name of the house is 'La Cigaliere' which loosely translates as 'House of the Cigale'. The cigale is an insect synonymous with the south of France which makes a very loud noise while it sits in the trees in the hot summer months. They're also known as Cicadas.
