Brothers Marcus and Samuel Root catered for a mainly upper class clientele at their Broadway studios which were opened in 1851.
Jasper got a new bow tie for Christmas from one of his human cousins. Thought it paired nicely with his fedora. Getting his bow tie to show was a challenge though. The boy is furry.

Vintage snapshots found at an estate sale. A dapper fisherman poses with his catch next to a 1962 Buick Le Sabre 2 door hardtop. The date, Sept 22, 1962 was written on the back.

This is my maternal great-grandfather in an unretouched (by me) photo I received the other day from my Mother. It was taken by one of the prominent Chicago studios of the early 1900's, and features the hand-coloring so popular in the day, though why the setting is the tar roof of an old brick building will forever remain a mystery.
I understand he owned a successful plumbing concern which was lost in the Depression. My mother recalls that he dressed this way every day...right down to his spats. But then, so did many back in the day...a fine time for the haberdashery.
