Dressing up for Dapper Day at Disneyland can be a lot of fun...when 3 of your best friends join you in recreating a actual 1920's barnstorming stunt team, it is downright awesome!
We dressed at the Hollywood stunt team, !3 Black Cats, a group that thrilled spectators with wild stunts and wingwalking...
Shout out to Patti Richmond for handling the camera! (That's ME saluting!)

We stumbled upon the Dapper Dans right after they started their set and stayed until the end. They even serenaded my mom!

Northern Pintails (Anas acuta), Higley Ponds, Gilbert, AZ. I love how dapper these birds look!

Elegant Northern Pintails swim through wetlands and lakes with their slender necks and long, pointed tails held high. Intricately patterned and pale-faced females join males fashioned with a signature white stripe down their chocolate-colored necks. These eager breeders head to the prairie pothole region of the Great Plains, as well as Canada, and Alaska to nest as soon as the ice breaks up. Large groups congregate in wetlands, lakes, bays, and even waddle through agricultural fields eating grains during the winter.
Northern Pintails migrate at night at speeds around 48 miles per hour. The longest nonstop flight recorded for a Northern Pintail was 1,800 miles.

I feel bad because I was able to photograph group of Dapper Ladies while I was in Montreal last year. Unfortunately, I learned the hard way that I needed a better way to organize my images on the road, and I've lost most of the shoot. Fortunately, I got a nice one of an old friend I met when she started dancing in the DC many years ago.
