July, Rocky Mountain Front Range, Colorado.
The grasshoppers are all around me during my walks now. Here's a close-up of one showing its intricate patterns and coloring; often perfect camouflage for its environment. As I step, they hop loudly in many directions!

Short Bio: The Dapper Cyclura was commissioned as an intrasystem cargo ship.

Built between September 1st and September 31st, I had a lot of fun just letting this ship grow on its frame. The system I most wanted to integrate, which I succeeded at, was using Power Function motors to allow both the radar dishes and bottom-hull turbines to rotate at different speeds. My solution worked, however the mechanism I used ended up very loud, so it isn't reasonable to active at a convention. I'll post a video later in the month.
Back to cruddy weather today, overcast and drizzly.
Interesting bird behaviour at Gordon Gardens' pond: this male mallard was one of two faithfully following a very patient female around (I know, drakes and hens, but I can never be serious about anything called a drake...). She left the pond and sidled up to me, probably expecting torn up bread slices and the two chaps, including this very dapper one, followed. I felt a little guilty not having any slices of bread to offer and they made their way back to the water.

Got the impression these guys had just stepped out after enjoying a good lunch at the adjacent French restaurant.

This dapper fella runs a vintage clothes shop in Cardiff market, I believe the shop is called hatt's. If your ever in Cardiff check it out!

I spotted this very dapper gentleman sitting outside when i visited Wymondham today. He was wearing such a great outfit I just had to ask him if I could photograph him. I acually, did not want to take a candid shot of him. He graciously obliged.

Lace up spats on the streets of Soho. The septuagenarian wearing them was equally dapper so I do have a few portraits of him for my Photostream;-))
Now that hunters have retreated to their loathsome lairs, wintering sea ducks are free to return to the coastal inlets of North America without fear of being shot from the sky. The numbers of birds that seem to do so has, unfortunately, diminished over time. These Long-tailed ducks come in for a landing. They fly farther into the inlet and fish for underwater crustaceans along the rock jetty. When the currents carry them out of the inlet they fly back in again. Adorned in their winter drab, these beautiful birds are, perhaps, more beautiful in non-breeding plumage than they are later in spring in their breeding plumage in the arctic. Although most birds have winter feathers that are dull or drab compared to breeding plumage, it seems that for Long-tailed duck, drab is dapper! #LongTailedDucks
I stopped this dapper young man on Morehead St. near Carnegie Mellon University and asked to take his portrait. Since he is a theater major he was more than happy to accommodate me on my portrait journey. Two days later I ran into him again on the CMU campus.
