I was a little disappointed that after I'd asked this dapper gentleman for permission to take his photo, he smiled and said he's be honored, and then he looked down at the table. I so wanted to capture his infectious smile. But you still get a sense of his elegance and elan. His little table was a calm island of its own surrounded by a boisterous teeming crowd.
The Barbarian weekend is always one of the best weekends at the Texas Renaissance Festival - great outfits and incredible photo ops in all directions. We got there before the opening cannon and checked out the opening ceremonies - what a blast! We spent the rest of the day ambling aimlessly, taking time to check out the chain mail family, belly dancers, and barbarians - what a great way to spend a day!
I took these photos in November 2013 at the Texas Renaissance Festival near Todd Mission, TX, about 50 miles NW of Houston.
The Dapper Dans performing on Main Street USA in the Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World, Orlando, Florida. Left to Right: Chad, Kevin, Ken, and Dan. The instruments on the ground are Deagan Organ Chimes. Each Deagan Organ Chime consists of eight chimes having three octaves of a single note, comprising a C scale. The Organ Chimes were made by the J.C. Deagan Company in Chicago, IL around 1901.

This store opened in 2015; it was originally a D.P. Paul Jewelers, which opened in March 1989 and closed in 1992. It became Musselman Jewelers in 1994, which closed in March 1998, and a Kay Jewelers in 1999, which relocated here in 2015.
Dapper Dan Jeremy realized that I was taking his picture, and wanted to make sure his hair looked at it's finest. (;
On February 13, 2020, FIT students in the Black Student Union gave Dapper Dan a tour of their exhibition Black In Time.
